Will these titles be coming to CH?
Any guesses as to if or when CH will offer these recently announced upcoming titles?
- High Noon 2 disc ultimate collector's edition
- Night of the Living Dead 40th anniversary edition (2 discs)
- Raiders of the Lost Ark special edition (streets 5/13)
And come to think of it, any idea why CH hasn't made these discs available by now?
- A Fistful of Dollars (2 disc collectors edition)
- For a Few Dollars More (2 disc collectors edition)
- The Stranger (MGM Film Noir)
- All About Eve (2 disc special edition)
- High Noon 2 disc ultimate collector's edition
- Night of the Living Dead 40th anniversary edition (2 discs)
- Raiders of the Lost Ark special edition (streets 5/13)

It is a continuing mystery why Columbia House has never carried the classic High Noon. Perhaps CH is unaware that the version they do carry is not the Gary Cooper classic. I don't know.
Now that the new CE is coming out under the Lionsgate brand, perhaps they will carry it eventually.
CH does carry quite a few older classic movies, but it is likely that they don't sell very well compared to new stuff such as Alvin and the Chipmunks and the like.

Lizard, you're pretty insightful about these things--does CH carry titles by the DVD distibutors of the forthcoming High Noon and Night of the Living Dead special editions? Based on your hunches, do you think we'll see these titles, as well as the new Raiders special edition, offered soon?
And yes, I'm aware that Fistful and Few Dollars More are available within the Leone boxed set CH has available, but I noticed that CH recently made the standalone "Good Bad & Ugly" 2 disc special edition available again--does this bode well for future availabilities of the Fistful and Few Dollars More 2 disc-ers? I'm wondering whether to hold out for these and the other titles I listed in this post, or to try to find bargains on them elsewhere. Any hunches are appreciated.

High Noon (1952): Ultimate Collector's Edition is a Lionsgate title, so it is possible that Columbia House will carry it.
Night of the Living Dead (1968): Remastered Edition 2008 is listed by Amazon as being from "Triad Productions", which I have never heard of. Unless it is an alias for a mainstream production house, it seems unlikely that Columbia House will carry it.
The new Raiders of the Lost Ark: SE is from Paramount, but CH doesn't seem to carry any of the original Indiana Jones movies (they do have the Young Indiana Jones TV series). This may be a decision by Paramount or, perhaps, by Spielberg. Given that, it seems unlikely that CH will have the new SE of "Raiders", but one never knows for sure.

If there is a pattern in what CH does and does not include in their inventory, I haven't seen it. Sometimes they have some amazingly obscure stuff yet won't have other well-known movies. Hard to figure.
