I was able to get both the Bee Movie (HD-Dvd) and Dewey Cox (BD) on one order despite both being pre-orders. I got both of them for 32.96 and no shipping. On the other order I pre-ordered Golden Compass (BD) for 29.96 with Beowulf (HD) for free. I hope they don't hold up my titles that are already out waiting for the later titles to actually be released.

Man...what better way could there possibly be to fulfill an account?

The Untouchables Special Collector's Edition - HD DVD Free

Atonement - HD DVD and DVD Combo (Pre-Order) $29.96
Release Date is 03/18/2008. This item will be shipped separately.

The Departed Special Edition - HD DVD and DVD Combo Free

Casino - HD DVD $22.46

Subtotal 52.42

Shipping & Processing FREE

Tax FREE

Total 52.42

That's some serious high def gangster action! went with films I don't already own in regular dvd....can't afford to be upgrading right now...will wait and hope I can find super deals on things like Goodfellas and the Bournes.

What really makes me mad is they don't have the Zodiac 2 disc HD DVD. That would have made this the perfect fulfillment order ever.

Now if I can just find out if that application i sent through ten days ago ever got approved

yep I got Michael Clayton and I am legend HD DDVD. At first I added both to my cart, and they were both 26.96, then I moved one to my wishlist and then back to my cart, and then one of them showed as free. !!

It seems I am legend will only work as the paid title and the free title has to be the same price ($26.96)

Can anyone find a way to stack this with the B1G1 Blu-Rays deal to get 2 free?

The specific B1G1 on HD & BR appears to be officially over. HOWEVER, a new, better, and triumphant situation seems to have presented itself. CH is now running a full B1G1 on all discs, INCLUDING BR/HD (with free shipping). I was able to get a free Blu-ray while ordering a standard DVD of higher price. If this is indeed the new policy, all BR/HDs should be part of all B1G1’s going forward. Since they generally have these sales a couple times per month, this basically means you can get all your BD/HD through CH for half price. Sure the selection isn’t huge yet, but its growing, and all new releases have been there recently. This would be a good time to join if you’re not a member yet...

When used as fulfillments, the relative cost of HD titles is quite good using BOGOF plus free shipping:

$29.96 titles: $9.81
$29.21 titles: $9.43
$26.96 titles: $8.31
$26.21 titles: $7.93
$22.46 titles: $6.06
$21.71 titles: $5.68

Assumptions: SD DVDs are valued at $4.80 and the two HD titles purchased with each BOGOF pairing are of the same value.

While I realize that most of us buying HD discs don't have much interest in SD DVDs, for those of us who have (had, in my case) unfulfilled accounts, the relative cost of HD discs is quite attractive. The values are the same for TV Edition HDL memberships (the relative cost of the enrollment sets is $15.325 each, in that club).

^ I've posted about this in a different thread. I am not sure how it will play out, but for kicks I placed an order with Bee Movie (HD-DVD) and got The Assassination of Jesse James (Blu-ray) free...hopefully the reports that Bee Movie is not getting released are accurate and the charge drops off

Also dead is the possibility of getting a extra SD title for free.

Also, none of the working codes have an effect either - 10% off, etc.

I wonder when BR/HDs will be available as enrollment selections.

As was mentioned in another thread, the BOGOF on HD discs has returned. It works with a free shipping code or BOGOF SD DVD codes, as before. The terms of the offer:

"Blu-ray(TM) and HD-DVD(TM) Buy 1, Get 1 Free Offer: Please note that Pre-Orders can act as your qualifier, but can not be shipped as your FREE selection. A shipping and processing charge will be added to each selection."

Yes, near-release pre-orders WILL work as freebies, but be aware that it isn't supposed to work this way.

The expiration date of this promotion remains unknown.

I'm not current member of CH. However, I have been thinking of signing up. I tried to go to the website to check out the selection of blu-rays but I cant seem to find them. Can anyone provide a link to the listing of blu-rays? I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

Just go to columbiahouse.com, and in the browse box type "blu-ray". They currently only have 79 titles, but the selection is growing fast.
