what should i do with my $12 fun cash at CH?

i have $12 fun cash but it doesnt seem to be worth using. if i add a 22.95 dvd (which most are), after the fun cash discount and shipping it comes out to $14. thats not a deal at all.

is the $12 basically useless?

You could use 10 of it on an under $20 'special price' DVD (ie sets, TV shows). That's pretty much the only good way to get them through CH, as they can't be used for fulfillments or gotten free as part of B1G1.

But you should check prices at other locations first. Quite often the shipping on these under $20 sets negate any use of funcash and are typically available from other places for about the same or less than what you would pay using funcash.

Look for "sets" that have a price of $11.97 or under $20 "special price" selections that have only 2 disks. Anything with 3 or more disks will almost always be less expensive at other merchants once shipping has been added. However, you'll only be able to use $10 of your FC on anything considered a "set". This includes ALL "special price" selections.

Other choices would be $12.95 or less selections. There is a fair selection at that price point and you would only be out the $3 shipping. Even the $14.95 selections are sort of worth the effort as one would cost about $5 after using FC and factoring in shipping. While it's not a "great" deal it *is* roughly the cost of a selection when maximizing a membership via account cycling.

I recently had $17 FC and used it for a $7.95 and a $9.95 selection for $1 plus shipping costs. Some of the Woody Allen selections are only $7.95 or 9.95.

Look around. You can find something cheap enough to use up the FC and get something you want for the cost of shipping.

There's plenty of stuff to spend $12 FC on. Don't waste it.

I'd pick a regular title that is $12.95 or less and get that for the max of $4 shipped. Or find a special priced boxset that is cheap like $11.97 or $14.97 and figure out if it's still a good deal with shipping.

I used $10 FunCash on a TV show set. While it wasn't a great deal, it wasn't bad. Even with the shipping, I still got a season of Quantum Leap at less than even DD's 20% off sale (I think. It was close anyway).

The Viva Pedro set would be $16.96 (20.97 Special Price -12 FC +7.99 S&H). While it would not be a sharp deal in absolute CH terms, it's still $4 off an already ridiculously discounted set of great movies. And if CH offers an end-of-year free S&H deal on box sets, even better!

LAst year, I used my FC accumulation to buy the Airport Terminal Pack, a set of 4 entertaining movies, if you like 70s disaster flicks featuring washed-up stars who were in-between their Love Boat gigs.

Actually it would be $18.97 as it's a "set" with a list price that only allows $10 funcash to be used. But it *is* an outrageous deal as DD has it listed for 82.92 with a "list price" of $117.95!
