I forget, so someone remind me really quick - when you place an order with CH, do they charge you at the time you place the order or when the items ship? If I placed an order with a number of pre-orders, would I be totally charged tonight or would it just been when they are actually released? If it's the latter, I might just buy a bunch of pre-orders while the code is active.
You won't be charged for pre-orders until they're released.

Of course, that being said...if part of your order ships now, you will be charged for those.

Awesome, that would make the pain of a large order that much softer of a blow.

Do codes that have stuff like 10% off entire order work with sets? I know that entire order should mean that but this is CH.

Yes the sets are discounted as well. Doing it this way means that the Blade Runner ultimate set comes up a dollar cheaper than Amazon and two fulfillments.

I like 802330. Maybe that "glitch" previously mentioned is still avail??
I just filled up two accounts using that B1G1 + free shipping with a third title.

Of course, I found third titles that cost less than shipping for the first two would've been. And I can get that much back for those third titles via DVD Planet. Oh well.

I'm not sure if this is with all codes or just 804764, but I was just messing around and I may have found something good. The upcoming complete series sets (Gilmore Girls, Full House, Queer as Folk) are coming up with only $2.99 shipping. With the additional 10% off this makes some good deals. For instance, Queer as Folk: The Complete Series is only $125.55 as opposed to the $186.29 Amazon has it for.

I was having trouble getting 802330 to work with Knocked Up (2-Disc) and the other titles I was trying it with (Spider-man 3, Shrek 3). It wasn't applying the B1G1 offer, both titles were counting as 1 fulfillment each, and I couldn't change it. I then tried it with Hairspray: Shake and Shimmy Edition and to my surprise, it worked. The other nice thing I found was that it gave me Knocked Up as my FREE title, even though it cost more than Hairspray ($24.95 vs. $22.95)

if they emailed you your account # just create your online account and sign in to columbiahouse.com and look at your order history. your enrollment order will only show 1 of the dvds but i mean hopefully you have some idea what you ordered.

I have just received the DVDs i ordered towards my last commitment. I was planning to close the account after i redeem my funcash worth $61. Placed an order for 4 DVDs @ 14.95 each. The order is in pending state BUT my funcash balance is now showing $-59.00!

I have bought a total of 29 DVDs excluding enrollement ones so not able to figure out how it is showing -59.

Forgive me for going off track but i used a double funcash code in the past and wondering if that has something to do with it!!!!

Nothing to worry about. It's just another reason to over CH policies.

When you use funcash, CH doubles the amount you spent and subtracts that from your fc balance. As the items are shipped, they will credit each cost back into the funcash balance, which will bring it back up to where it should be. This can take as long as a week or two depending on how long it takes to ship and if something is OOS or something.
So, keep in mind that you can actually "lock" yourself out of using funcash, so be careful in the future.
Let's say you have $60 in funcash, but use $30 of it on an order. Your fc balance will now be $0 ($30x2=$60). It will go back up to $30 after the titles have been shipped, so in the meantime you cannot use the $30 balance that you actually have in fc.

Make sense? No, of course not, this is CH!

FWIW, I got 804761 in an e-mail ("by invitation only, a sale for our best members") and it says it expires at midnight tonight. If you want to use it, get to it...

Edit: Taking a look at the offer and checking my shopping cart, the only titles that are discounted seem to be the $14.95 ones. Others are at regular prices and nothing is free, even after going to checkout. I don't see what all the fuss is about. If you get it to work on higher priced titles, more power to you.

Lizard, what title did you have in the cart as your "Buy one" title? Maybe that was causing your $14.95 problem. I just tried the $22.95 Spider-Man 3 SE, and was able to get the equally priced Death Proof for $7.95 in my cart.

I did not have a problem getting this deal (Buy one at regular price, all others at that price or less are $7.95 plus free shipping until midnight) to work. I placed the following order:

The Office: Season Three - USA 04736609W $29.97

Flash Gordon Saviour of the Universe Edition 04708806W $7.95

Serenity Collector's Edition 04737003W $7.95

Knocked Up (Unrated)Collector's Edition 04795308W $7.95

Surf's Up Special Edition (Pre-Order) 04627501W $7.95
Release Date is 10/09/2007. This item will be shipped separately.

1408 (Pre-Order) 04743506W $7.95
Release Date is 10/02/2007. This item will be shipped separately.

Taxi Driver Limited Collector's Edition 04721007W $7.95

Double Indemnity Legacy Series 04475307W $7.95

Subtotal 85.62

Shipping & Processing 6.99

Tax FREE

Total 92.61
The Office served as my lead DVD purchase and the rest showed as $7.95 as their sale price. Strangely though, in the Cart Knocked Up still showed up as $24.95, but it applied a $17 discount at the bottom of the Cart, which brought it down to $7.95 where it should be. I did have to pay the $6.99 S/H for The Office since it was a "set." Without The Office, the total would have been $72.65. Also of note is the nice bonus of picking up 1408 and Surf's Up at a pre-order price of $7.95.

OK, glad that I managed to get 1 new account opened to take advantage of this great deal with the 804716 code.

Managed to get the following...

Hostel Part II (pre-order) $19.95
Transformers (pre-order) $22.95
Knocked Up Unrated 2 disc $7.95 (for me)
Knocked Up Unrated 2 disc $7.95 (for my brother)
Serenity CE $7.95
Face/Off CE (pre-rder) $7.95
Surf's Up (pre-order) $7.95
Death Proof 2 disc SE $7.95

Total = $90.60 (savings was $100)

It appears as if some pre-orders up until October 9th are showing up at $7.95

Not sure I see the logic in using the $7.95 code? Unless you're more interested in # of DVDs than in Avg$ per DVD.

Using the $8 code, I can only see an avg of $7.89 at best (including 1 FC DVD) placing 1 order w/2 fulfillments in the order. With 2 orders(1 full. each), a maxed out cart & 2 FC DVDs, I can only see a $8.08 avg. My $s are a little higher because I'm in a state that pays tax.

Using b1g1, I get an avg of $5.77 (with tax).

I'm with you, I could only think people are using this code for the same reason, to get a lot of NEW dvds. Even though the average per dvd isn't ideal, it's still much better than retail will be for quite a while.

I'm still getting an average of $4.98/4.80(or better) on my accounts, no tax for me. I'm just fine with that, I'm in no rush.

I used the $7.95 code to fulfill my latest account.

The DVDs I bought were DVDs that I wanted to get release week, or very soon, so this is the cheapest way for me to do so. I recycle one account as often as I can, but I don't solely rely on that to get the best price. For one, these deals don't usually last long enough to start a new account and then use the code on the new account, and also you never know how long it will be before they actually accept you as a member for another account. It can be just a few days after you send in an application, and it can also be a number of months before they accept your new account. You just never know these days.

What are the most expensive items that'll count as a freebie?

I'm picking up the Pan's Labyrinth 2-disc but need ideas for something to go with my 2nd fulfillment title.

with that you can pick another DVD up to $24.95. That includes most recent 2 disc sets.

Well that's already my freebie. I'm looking for the best things to pair with HD-DVDs and $30 box sets. Recent mainstream 2-disc sets tend to be out in high-def, which I'd rather get, or will eventually become enrollment selections. I'm wondering if anyone's found any sets that'll unexpectedly ring up as free. Or any independent, foreign or classic films- I've found plenty that are $18-$20 elsewhere (like these). The Criterion titles make good freebies but I already have them.
