I was told that my 2 disc edition would be sent with a return label for me to return the 1 disc with. When it arrived there was no label. If I just put it back in the box it came in, glue it up and send it back, will that be sufficient? Anyone with past experieces like this?

CH automated returns page
I've never used this feature before. I too received the one disc version after paying for the two disk version. I used CH's automated webpage for returns/exchanges.
Everything looked good at the time but I still do not see anything under returns or new orders on my personal page. Also, the auto email I received made absolutely no mention of the replacement title I selected during the auto return/exchange.
Is this normal or do I have to call in?
Thanks and good luck everyone,
George

I just had my post office mark it as 'Package refused' and have it sent back. I hope they process my return correctly. My 2 disc edition still haven't come yet. Maybe today. Also, I was receiving free shipping on my original order. Hope they don't give me any problems if I ask for a credit if they charge me shipping for the replacement order.

I see the replacement order under my order history (although they have the price wrong under the order number and on the packing invoice). They have the correct amount on the "amount I owe" portion of the screen.
Quick service on their part.

The lack of a slip cover on this one is a real pisser. I guess you could buy a retail copy and then return it sans slipcover if you wanted the cover so bad. CH must be shedding these slip covers because I highly doubt they're not getting them on the first batch or two of this particular movie.

I may have forgotten to return the slip cover.

That's cool. Pan's was the paid portion of a BOGO free for me. I was wondering if they'd let me keep the free one if I returned the 1-disc version. Wasn't worth the risk. Hope the return/credit of the bad disc goes smoothly.

That's what I always do.
Five years or so ago, after I was told that I had to pay to send back something due to their own mistake, I glued the box shut and returned it to them on their dime. From that point on, I've opened all my boxes from them carefully, so they don't rip, and if I need to send it back, I glue them shut and write Return to Sender on them. I've never paid for return shipping once.

I'm in the same boat with you all, but I might have lucked out. Upon realizing I had the wrong movie I resealed the package and wrote "Shipping Error, Return to Sender". After then reading all this online I was worried that I should have contacted them before hand. But, to my surprise, on the website it now shows Pan's Labyrinth under returns, so hopefully I have been reimbursed.
Here's the best part though, Pan's Labyrinth was my paid part of a BOGO. Therefore if I now have to reorder to Pan's I've already got one free movie...and plan on getting another. I'll have to call and make sure I'm being credited the money before I take any action. Hopefully things will turn out for the rest of you.

I've been lucky to avoid this mess so far, but I do want to order the SE (as the free DVD with a set). Has anybody ordered this recently (like past ten days or so) who can confirm whether they've fixed this glitch for new orders?

I was planning on using Pan's Labyrinth as part of another BOGO, but I'm not sure whether I should with the problems people are having--I really want the 2 disk not the one and I hate hassles.

^Given that Columbia House knows of their error, it seems likely that it will have been fixed for new orders.
However, as always with CH, one never knows for sure.

Received the single edition last week, used the "returns" section on the web, received the 2 disc edition yesterday along with the return label (in a separate envelope) and sent them off today. We'll see when I get actual credit for this (they charge you for it, then issue the credit - I have a funny feeling this is where the screw-up will happen!).
