where are the b1g1f, and free shipping codes?

I was gonna jump back into the mix of things and sign up with a 7:2 code (i guess ill go with LMT) but haven't seen any b1g1f codes, and/or free shipping. on my limited budget i would love to know if there are any coming up. Do these just come in the mail/email occassionally when i sign up? or is this just a slow period? thanks!

There will be more codes, and they usually go quickly.
You're better off opening the account now so you're ready when a good code does come around, otherwise you might miss it.

Used 804430 to fulfill my new account with two pre-orders and two recent releases. Average DVD cost was $4.80 for the account. Not too shabby... And I haven't even received the enrollment package yet.

Technical note for newcomers to BOGOF: If you order a pre-order, it counts at the regular price for matching with a free title. For example: a $22.95 pre-order will have a discounted price of $19.95 (counts for fulfillment). You can get a non-pre-order DVD with a regular price of up to $22.95 for free by pairing it with the pre-order. (Special priced DVDs, such as sets, and most pre-orders can't be taken as freebies.)

So is the $5 off dead for good? I assume yes, since everyone seems to be paying 19.95 for everything...

Yeah, I think it's dead for good. I haven't been able to get it to work for a month on any accounts.

Has CH changed its policy on pre-orders for free? I tried to order Stranger than Fiction with Superman Returns for free, and they charged me 22.95 for SM and gave me STF for free!?! In the past they would charge $19.95 for the pre-order and allow the $22.95 item for free (assuming the pre-order's value was $22.95). Is there any way around this now?

I can't get it to work, either. But I did get Snakes on a Plane for free (which is worth 21.95) and paying 19.95 for Stranger than fiction. So apparently you can't get 22.95 titles for free with pre-orders anymore... Didn't work with Talladega Nights either...

Is it just me or does it seem like a lot of dvd's now are $22.95 and not $19.95? No big though you still can get a good deal with the buy 1 get 1 free.

Don't think it will work, there was something special about those January promotion codes.
Go ahead and try it and see what happens, you could get lucky.

Not sure what you are doing to NOT make it work, but I just tried a PO for $19.95 (Reg $22.95) & another released $22.95 title & got the released title for free. I even tried it for 2 POs & got one of them free - the other was $19.95 (Reg $22.95).

Editted to add:

Ok, I see what you're seeing now. If STF is in your cart 1st, then it doesn't work right with SR. Put SR in first, then STF. Should work now. Might have to put code in before putting STF in cart?

Works fine for me. I pre-ordered Justice League Unlimited Season 2 and got the Protector for free, which is a $22.95 title. Also, tried it by pre-ordering Saw III and also was able to get a 22.95 title.

Just got it to work by switching the cart order. Thanks.

Man where are the pre-orders for The Departed, Tenacious D, Casino Royale, For Your Consideration, and Flags of our Fathers when you need them!

I know what you mean. They had Casino Royale just last week, but now it's gone!

No, it's not just you. I, too, have noticed the trend toward more $22.95 titles. It seems that only older catalog releases are $19.95 nowadays. It is the Columbia House way of squeezing a few more dollars out of each of us.

One way around this, for those who cycle accounts rapidly, is to buy new releases as pre-orders, when $22.95 titles can be had for $19.95. Otherwise, just wait the two, three, or six months after the release date and pick them up as enrollments on a future membership.
