$5 off first order?

What is the exact link to the $5 off code? The webdvd ones doesn't work when you login.

columbiahouse.com/sa/ch/migration/dvd/dvd_web_incentive.jsp works perfect. The webtv one just tells me to login to the website and then doesn't work.

Thanks guys!

columbiahouse.com/sa/ch/migration/dvd/dvd_web_incentive.jsp isn't working for me on a new membership just received today...anyone else?

I wonder if CH is deliberately killing this bonus?

My old link goes to the home page instead now. I've never had a problem with this before, in fact using it as recently as a few weeks ago. This doesn't look good for the $5 discount.

This link worked earlier today, and then suddenly stopped working. Strange...

Has anyone who recently got an enrollment package noticed the webdiscount flyer in it? If they still include that offer they should still be honoring it.

Perhaps they have discontinued it (the pessimistic view) or perhaps they are changing how the website works and it is in transition (that would be the optimistic view).

Not having $5 off is going to raise DVD cost averages by 56¢ or so. That would be bad news.

I should have checked. I just got an enrollment package last week, but I am used to just throwing most of the stuff in the recycling.

I hope they are not phasing it out.

The last membership I got about 2 weeks ago did NOT have the $5 off offer in it.

None of the urls work for me today, seems like this is a dead or dying offer.

The paranoid side of me hesitates to put this here in case there's a CH spy or something, but there's another way to get the $5 off discount. If you click on "start shopping now" from your "Welcome to the Club" email then the discount will already be there (and it can be used unlimited times, not just once).

Awesome! Thanks for the info. I went into my filing cabinet and dug up a "Welcome" e-mail from last March. I clicked through the e-mail link and voila, the $5 coupon was loaded.

SBJ, but you are using an old account that is still open, I assume? If not, how did you use that old email to login to a new account?

That is correct. I always like to keep one account open, even after I fulfilled that account.

First time new Columbia House member here....

I have tried all of the suggestions here to no avail - I just can't get the $5 discount to pop up. I received my welcome package (if you can call it that!) within the last two weeks and it did not include any mention of the discount (it was basically just a "welcome" note on the packing slip/invoice that came with my introductory DVDs). Nor did my welcome email mention any discount. :-(

One thing I was wondering, though -- do you have to sign up for snail mailings instead of email offers in order to receive the web discount?

Did you click on the link in your e-mail? The $5 discount should be automatically loaded when accessing the site through the "Welcome" e-mail. There is no mention of the discount, but it will be reflected in your cart once your order is $30 or higher. Don't forget to change your offer by inputing 807748 into the "Enter Your Online Code" box. You'll find this box by clicking on the "details" link at the top of the page when you first sign on. This offer will give you a free title with every one that you purchase at regular price.

So, you can get 2 DVDs for $39.90(assuming that the DVDs are preorders) and two DVDs for free. Then the $5 discount will be taken off of one of your $19.95 titles, making it $14.95(don't worry, this title will still count as a fulfillment title). The shipping should be free. So the final tally should be $34.90 plus sales tax(if you're in a state that CH taxes-CH doesn't charge tax in my state).

EDIT: Welcome to the forum!

EDIT: Welcome to the forum!
Omigosh! It worked! I think I love you.

Buy one get one, free shipping, and $5 off.....sweeeeeeeeeet!

Seriously, thanks for the tip - this now fulfills my account (at prices that can't be beat!). I really appreciate all of the helpful tips here in the forums. I'll be sending most of these off to deployed troops, so it's really helpful to be able to stretch my little dollars as far as possible (given the good cause and all...lol).

Oh! And thanks for the nice welcome!

I never received a "welcome to the club" email with my latest account, but when my enrollments shipped I did receive a "we've shipped your order" email. I clicked the "upcoming releases" link in that email and the $5 web discount was active.

I fulfilled using 807748 and got:

Reservoir Dogs 15th Anniversary Edition 44949 Pending $0.00

A Nightmare on Elm Street Special Edition 45512 Pending $0.00

Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby Unrated & Uncut 45662 Pending $19.95

Jackass: Number Two Unrated 45760 Pending $14.95

Shipping & Processing $0.00
Tax $0.00
Total $34.90

^That gave me an idea fryingpan, but I only figured this out after I fulfilled the other day Oh,well, it may be of use to others and I may have to use this again next time, because I didn't get the "we shipped your order" email either.
Check it out.

I did however get an email for a "director's selection decline" notice, and when I opened that and clicked through the email to login, the $5 discount was active!!

So that's another way to do it

Why does this thing only work when there are awful promos? I have tried every link, have NOT done a 1st order, and have over $30 placed. Does anyone have a corrected link that works? The webdvd & webtv & http://www.columbiahouse.com/sa/ch/homepage.jsp just give login errors.

Mcbutton, read the rest of this thread. There are a few other ways to get the discount, clicking through your emails. Read on a few posts back, myself and a few others have posted alternate ways to get this. The links no longer seem to work.
