Free DVD w/ reg. club price purchase - NOT!

Got this offer via email and promptly tried to get in on it; no joy. Here's the deal: once you have the regular priced title in your cart (I picked "Curious George"), you can only get another title free if it is not priced any other way than 'regular'. Doesn't matter if it is $5 or $25, it has to show up at 'regular' price. I figured this out through trial and error, and should have been tipped by the small print in the offer details "Some exceptions apply. Upcoming Releases, Sets, and other specially priced items will not participate in your regular offer as a free item."

Has anyone else gotten this 'offer' and if so, did you take advantage of it?

That's the way CH has always been. I've never seen a B1G1 sale where the free one could be specially priced.

Yeah sorry, but this is standard procedure. You could possibly buy a "specially priced" item and then get your regular title free though. Depends on what you're trying to get I guess. CH a tangled web.

I guess I've been out of the loop too long. At any rate, I spent about an hour trying to find a free title I actually wanted, but failed. Sigh....
