Just had to share after a few years
My modest collection of 100 or so DVD's is a result of this form. I have been lurking for years and have decided to finally make a post. If you want to build up a DVD collection Columbiahouse is hard to beat. I usually get a new account every 3-4 months looking for the best codes/price-to-dvd ratio. Here is the last one.
From the "Better code Thread" I used code 1KJ. Or Grab 6(1) + 2 to fulfill. I have a few old PSN's but why bother? Details .. Friday 1 selection $0.49 Munich 1 selection $0.49 The Green Mile 1 selection $0.49 Capote 1 selection $0.49 Blow 1 selection $0.49 War Games 1 selection $0.49 American Pie : Special Edition 1 selection $9.95 Total Items 7 selections Shipping & Processing: FREE Order Total: $12.89 One note. I always create a new hotmail account for each new CH account. In case I don't fulfill soon, I can always check for and Directors Selection E-mails. Order placed Aug 7th. Welcome Letter sent the 10th. Order on the way letter sent on the 14th. Order arrived on the 16th... 7 business days later. To fulfill. Used the $5 off webdvd offer. Then entered the code 807748 and fulfilling the last 2 got 4. Yes 4 free. Details One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest Special Edition Widescreen 2759207 American Beauty: The Awards Edition Widescreen 2524700 Stalag 17 Special Collector's Edition Full Screen 4370508 Syriana Widescreen 4370904 V for Vendetta Widescreen 4449807 Inside Man Widescreen 4456802 Total Items Ordered: 6 Order Total: $56.66 You Saved: $82.80 Ok.. so the shipping was a little rough but lets do some math. $56.66 $12.89 ---------- $69.55 Divided by 13 DVD's = $5.35 per Ok. That is your baseline. If you can find DVD's cheaper. Buy em. Thanks for all the help over the years and I hope this helps anyone considering Columbiahouse. Miles |
welcome aboard finally!
ya this place  and check out the exchange forum so you can share your goodies! |
Good post. Another happy CH'er.
I don't understand why you create a new mail address every time though. Why not just use the same one over and over (that way you only have to manage one mail account, not many)? |
nice avg. price per dvd! hopefully this code stays around a little longer so i can get in this week!
|
isn't the code 807748 a buy 1 get 1 free code? how did you end up with 4 free? thanks.

The reason I create a new hotmail account is that once I fullfill, I ditch the e-mail and never check it. So I don't have to be bothered about pesky please come back and 'check this out' offers from CH. They probably don't base new accounts on past e-mail address but just in case...
I am going to miss the fullfill 2 get 4 for free when I do this again in a few months. Maybe there will be something similiar. Thanks to all those who track down the codes. Miles |
^I like those "we want you back" e-mails because they sometimes contain good new enrollment codes.
|
I recently fulfilled two memberships. One ended up $47.79 for 10 DVD's ($4.78 ea) and the other was $52.79 for 11 DVD's ($4.80 ea). :D
Gotta love CH. Now if they'd just get HD-DVD and Blu-Ray.... |
wow! so how did you get to under $5 avg. dvd? that is craZy
|
Due to the 807748 code, my last account averaged $4.69.
$60.99 for 13 single disc or double disc sets (22 discs total) including all shipping charges. |

The e-mails for the old/cancelled account only last for a week or so. Usually by then I will have been approved for another account and clicking thru would take me to that new account. |

Sorry just had to brag/share again ;) Ok, fullfillment order took 5 business days to ship. I called in today to cancel and it was a series of prompts to cancel. I didn't get a CSR asking me to stay and offer me stuff. Another CH done. Thanks again all... Miles |
