5309109 Pillow Talk: 50th Anniversary Edition (FS)

Several dozen titles recently added to the Columbia House catalog are not yet showing up on the enrollment website — even as "Members Only". Probably just an oversight, but it is possible that they are limiting the number of newly added titles to the enrollment catalog. Anyway, be aware that not all of the DVDs in the CH catalog are appearing on the enrollment website at present.

The Columbia House enrollment website continues to deteriorate. All of the titles added to the catalog in recent weeks are missing from the enrollment website. Either CH has made a decision to not make any more titles available for enrollment or they have personnel issues with someone new who doesn't know how to properly enter and code new DVDs so that they are listed on the enrollment site.

Didn't see this one mentioned before, not sure if it was available the same day as the single disc or if it just sneaked through recently:

^I missed spotting that special edition because it wasn't announced separately from the single disc under the "Upcoming Releases" lists. So it wasn't on my "not yet available" list. I am getting better at trying to look for those SEs, as opposed to just BDs. But it has been more than a month since any new releases or upcoming releases have actually appeared on the enrollment website, so it appears that a major policy change is under way at Columbia House. And I don't know what it is.

Still, I am surprised that the Valkyrie: SE has become available for enrollment. That is odd.

Re: The Recently Available For Enrollment List (Rebirth)

With the Disney club moving to Blu-ray enrollment, CH may be doing the same.
It could be good or bad though, because the Disney Club eliminated the ability to use codes within the account, and so far the only thing available for Blu-ray signup is the standard 2+1+2 or 2+0+3 deal.
Potentially, CH could become much more expensive to buyers like us.
Even if they were going to add BR to the enrollment, it's still odd that nothing is being added to the DVD enrollment site... .

how long for the Centennial collection discs that came out 5/19 are available do you think? what's standard for Paramount? Looking specifically to get Liberty Valance and El Dorado...thought they'd be up now but aren't.

They are available now! It says members only when you look up the title. However, you can add it to your enrollment cart if you click on the link to the title.

^Yes, all new titles listed in recent weeks have not shown up on the enrollment website. Many titles should have become available for enrollment but remain "missing". At this rate there are only a few more titles that will make it to enrollment status and then that will be it for new enrollments.

My original hope was that they just had a new person who made some coding errors, but after a couple of months that seems more and more unlikely.

My working hypothesis now is that the contracts Columbia House has with the studios have changed and will no longer allow new releases to be used as promotions. It is also possible that CH has decided to not offer new titles as enrollments on their own. They may also be winding down the store in preparation for going out of business.

So, I haven't a clue what's going on. But my "Not Yet Available..." list is about to become irrelevant unless something changes at CH.

Ya know, it's not only the addition of new titles, but nothing on the enrollment site is being updated.
For example, some time ago, I wanted to buy the Young Indiana Jones Vol.1, but it disappeared because most likely it went out of stock, as they still carry volumes 2 and 3.
If you log into an open account, you can do a search and vol.1 is no where to be found. However if you search for it on the enrollment site, it is there... of course you can not add it to your cart, but it's still there.
Just as well, there are other titles that have disappeared from the member's site, but are still showing as available on the enrollment site. Like all of the Warner issued Charlie Chaplin SE discs... gone from the member's site, still there on the enrollment site.

I think the issue is most likely something stupid knowing Columbia House. Like someone quit their job, and CH forgot to reassign the job to someone new... or someone just stopped showing up for work, and CH hasn't noticed yet ... or maybe your theory of a clerical or programming error, and CH hasn't noticed the glitch yet.

So, once again we sit here and wonder how CH still manages to profit by running a business the way they do. Hopefully the cash cow doesn't end soon.

I am away from home (in Moab). I'll get to it on Wednesday. However, the list of titles that aren't missing from the enrollment site is getting thin. Barring a change in policy by Columbia House, there will soon be no new enrollment titles at all.
