got a new deal in the mail from CH - 4 for price of 1

with nothing else to buy. is this a deal worth doing? i assume anything they send in the mail is not the greatest deal going but i like the fact that there are no fulfillments or committments.

Adrenaline 07-09-05 07:03 PM

What about shipping?

atari2600 07-09-05 07:06 PM

1.99 per dvd for the first two. for the other two it says "plus shipping and processing" but doesnt say exactly how much so i assume 1.99 as well for those.

bis22 07-09-05 07:31 PM

Is there a savings code for it?

SFranke 07-09-05 07:32 PM

Will you please post the code that came with the mailing?

ITALIAN926 07-09-05 07:50 PM

This will be like a $7 average, ( $20 + $8 S/H ) its not worth it.. might as well go with the regular codes and get more DVD's per membership. Not to mention its a lower average too.

BKenn01 07-10-05 08:59 AM

Could you post the code?

atari2600 07-10-05 03:32 PM

yeah i will...i dont have it with me here. i will post it though. promise :)

atari2600 07-12-05 04:28 PM

code = PKKD

BKenn01 07-12-05 05:04 PM

Is this a CH.com code?

joltman 07-12-05 09:15 PM

I just did an application for it, I figured what the hell, because I wanted to get a movie, but it would have seemed like too much by itself, but I didn't want to have to do a full enrollment and buy a few movies. It did not ask for a credit card number, and it looks like it's the regular columbia house, not ch.com, so hopefully I'll get accepted and I'll tell you more.

thejester 07-12-05 10:28 PM

With $5.97 in initial S&H, this would come out to roughly $7.72/dvd for 4. High considering current sub-$6 codes. Thanks tho'.

ch.com doesn't recognize PKKD for me.

Adrenaline 07-13-05 09:21 AM

Maybe a free shipping code variant of this will come out

lizard 07-13-05 12:59 PM

Regular DVD site doesn't seem to recognize PKKD. Perhaps it is a mail-only code?

I entered it on the main page and it gave me the standard deal and took me to the search page, I then entered it on the search page and it took it. It lets you pick two for free with $5.97 shipping, then you have to buy one more at $19.95 plus shipping, then you get a free one.

bhauge 07-13-05 09:20 PM

It works if you enter PKK instead of PKKD. The last D is redundant since it is for the DVD Club.

Herbster 07-14-05 05:51 AM

Thanks, bhauge, but ch.com doesn't recognize PKK either.

We're sorry! We don't recognize the online code you entered. Please re-enter the code or shop with the offer on your Member Card for great savings.

Im dissapointed in you Lizard.. you should know why this is ! haha

You get 4 DVDs for the price of 1 with nothing more to buy! Plus shipping and processing. Choose 2 FREE DVDs now and then as a member, buy 1 at regular Club price (currently as low as $19.95 plus shipping and processing) within the next year. After that, you get 1 more FREE DVD (for a total of 4 DVDs in all).
I really dont see why people would use this code. You order 2 DVD's , then your fullfillment, then you get 1 more. This is probably at least a month long process and then cancel? All for a higher $7 average ? It really is a waste of time. Use the regular 7 / 2 codes... its far more worthwhile.

Yes it does

ITALIAN926 07-14-05 06:56 AM

yep

atari2600 07-14-05 12:59 PM

wait...theres a ch.com (i thought that was just an abbreviation for columbiahouse.com) - are those two sites different?

ITALIAN926 07-14-05 01:54 PM

CH.COM

For a one-time membership fee of $9.95 billed to your credit card, you save 40-60% off list price on every DVD when you enroll in ch.com.
As a member you agree to purchase just two DVDs within the next 90 days - don't worry, even those DVDs will be 40-60% off list price. And shipping is FREE on every order! Plus, as a thank you for signing up, you will get 2 FREE DVDs.
{$9.95 enrollent fee} + {2fullfillments at 40% off = $16.48} + {2 free DVD's} = $6.60 average. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.. I'll pass.. not worth the effort for just 4 DVD's :D
