===

Okay, I made a script that checks every code 80000-809999. Sometime in the near future I'll make a web page that runs it every week or something and will show the updated list. One problem is that it only shows codes that work for my account, but I think most codes work for all accounts except for the monthly offerings like 40% off, $10 off, etc.

Here's what I got when I did it tonight:

801005: DVDs at 50% off!
when you buy 1 at regular price
801059: GET FREE SHIPPING ON ALL DVDS! NO MINIMUM PURCHASE REQUIRED!
803434: Buy 1 DVD at $19.95 and get 1 of equal or lesser value FREE. [this expired 5/20]
804037: Get 2 for $20 DVDs & Earn a Purchase Credit!
804150: Get Unlimited DVDs at up to 50% off!
when you buy one regular priced DVD at $19.95 or higher Plus, enjoy a Special Reward and get an EXTRA $10 FunCash with your order of $35 or more!
804159: GET FREE SHIPPING ON ALL DVDS! NO MINIMUM PURCHASE REQUIRED!

I posted the 2 for $20 in the other topic because it's similar to the B1G1 code in that it counts for committment. Unfortunately, I think it only works for $19.95 titles, but it's better than nothing now that the other one expired - this expires May 27.

ScottyWH 05-21-05 01:50 AM

AWESOME! Thanks for the work, Paul! I might have to give one of those free shipping codes a shot sometime tonight. Now, you just need to pickup the Data Miner project and also write a script that checks enrollment codes. ;)

:D

Very cool!

Al_Tahoe 05-21-05 04:34 AM

Nice job Mpaul, thank you!

In case anyone is still planning on ordering DVDs from the '2 for $18' sale, code 804150 is 'stackable' with that. I realize Funcash isn't worth nearly as much these days, but if you were gonna buy 4 or more of the 2 for $18 DVDs anyway, you might as well get the extra $10 in Funcash.

cfloyd3 05-21-05 05:05 AM

The FREE SHIPPING ON ALL DVD's codes 801059, 804159 seems as expected too good to be true. I tried them out and they did not work for me but at the same time I am trying to use my $5 off for first order so maybe thats the deal, but I assume it is not going to work. Oh well.

JoN8282 05-21-05 06:08 AM

i am able to get the free shipping no minimum to work with webdvd - however it does not give free s/h to boxsets - so that idea is not working...

also, 804037: Get 2 for $20 DVDs & Earn a Purchase Credit!

behaves very weird in the cart... first, it must be $19.95 titles only - second if you add other things to the cart, you pay full price, also, it will not count even a set in the cart as a commitment, which is making it very hard to order something, stacked with webdvd, and fufill an account.

thanx OP! - looking foward to new codes :)

Good idea, an enrollment code thing wouldn't take too long, so maybe I'll do that next...and maybe the Data Miner thing eventually...but I'm gonna take a break first. :) Hopefully I don't crash CH by using all their bandwidth...

lizard 05-21-05 11:32 AM

801059 doesn't work on my unfufilled account but 804159 does. And it does give free shipping on a single regular DVD order but not on sets, as reported above, despite what the terms say. I find it curious that the terms also say that the code expires on April 3. Strange.

Despite not working for sets, this would be a great code for regular fulfillment DVDs when "free shipping for three" has ended.

If it weren't for that expiration date I'd suggest talking to a "web specialist" about sets not getting free shipping, despite what the terms say. But with the date, such an approach likely wouldn't work because the offer appears to be a mistake.

804037, 2 for $20, also works on my account for $19.95 DVDs, as mpaul39 said. Another nice find.

viking99 05-21-05 12:57 PM

Great work mpaul39! I'll throw in another "vote" for a next generation data miner to provide all available titles. If you can crack that one, we'll name you CH-forum-king...

(at least for a day :) )

conscience 05-21-05 01:18 PM

Wow! Thanks mpaul! I just did another enrollment order so hopefully that goes through Monday or Tuesday.

sumdeus 05-21-05 02:43 PM

Thanks mpaul39 for putting together this script and list. Most excellent work. As others have mentioned, an enrollment script would also be a GREAT thing. Keep up the great work.

If you ever saw The Wicker Man, you'd realize that being "king for a day" isn't a very desirable outcome.

JoN8282 05-21-05 05:00 PM

i wound up going this route thanks to this post... just got a LMT code account aprooved, a day late for the b1g1f... but i see those as a extra bonus to cash in every now and then, the regularly constant deals you can eek out are still amazing

7 for 12.89
Gremlins Special Edition 06082 Pending $9.00 (commitment)
Bruce Almighty 29718 Pending $9.00
Batman: The Animated Series - Volume Three 38690 Pending $28.71 (commitment and webdvd)
Subtotal $46.71

fufilled the account and got 15$ in FC - which i then immidiatly spent and got the new SE of 12 monkeys for the $2.99 s/h.

obviously the extra $10 fc code i used is not so useful if your not in a FC redemption period, because you'd want to cycle the account... but it worked out as...

10 regular titles and 1 set for: 62.59

Average Price Per Title 5.32
Relative Cost of Set: 9.39

COMPARED WITH DDD: $109.90 (10.99 avg) for 10 titles and 33.12 for the set.
$80.52 saved....

i love playing this game.

SFranke 05-22-05 09:44 AM

I don't know if this was already common knowledge, but the 2 for 19.95 code will not work on preorders priced at 19.95.

sumdeus 05-22-05 10:24 AM

I posted this in the B1G1 thread but haven't received a response:

In regards to the "buy 2 for $20 and earn a purchase credit," what is a purchase credit? I'm not one to typically be clueless when it comes to CH knowledge, but I find myself wondering what this code will do for me.

SFranke 05-22-05 10:36 AM

I guess it's the same as a commitment credit.

..........and I'm sure there are a few people that would slip you some DVDs or cash to make it worth your while if you were successful!

karener 05-24-05 03:30 PM

Not a very good one but still thought I would put it out there.

809106

Season Sets up to 30% off
Plus take an EXTRA 10% when you buy two or more TV sets

I think it is a good code because a lot of us in here buy in bulk, so buying 2 TV sets is easy to do. Unfortunately, though, the code doesn't work on my account :( It is a relatively new fulfilled account with my fulfillment order as the only order placed, so this code may only work on certain accounts.

budster7 05-25-05 11:38 AM

Is there anyway to use the 804037 code (Get 2 for $20 DVDs & Earn a Purchase Credit!) to get two fulfillment credits? I tried to put 4 $19.95 titles (no pre-orders) in my cart. However, it's only listing two titles as .5 units for fulfillment each and the other two titles don't count for fulfillment at all. Each title is priced at $10.

It is likely that even though the credit is listed incorrectly it would give you two fulfillment credits. But to be safe, the way to handle it is to call up, tell the CSR that you are "having trouble placing an order on the web" and the you "would like to speak with a web specialist". You will be transfered to a web CSR who can pull up your account as you see it and verify the problem. Tell the web specialist the offer code you would like to use and let him or her verify what sort of fulfillment credit you are getting.

If the web specialist tells you that the offer is for only ½ fulfillment credit per two DVDs ordered then this offer isn't a worthwhile deal. But it might just be a mixup in their programming, in which case the CSR can give you the credit you want.

j-bo 05-25-05 02:59 PM

Why not just make 2 orders? It seems as if others used the code on a single order and it worked to get 1 fulfillment credit. Don't forget to combine those single orders with the free shipping code.

I hate calling CSR's (especially to cancel!), that's my only reason for why I offer this alternative up.

When I tested the code I found that it listed only ½ fulfillment credit for 2 DVDs. I assumed it was a glitch. But there is no way to know until someone tries an order or calls and finds out what is going on.

Splitting orders like you suggest makes it harder to take advantage of "free shipping for three" and a $20 order does not qualify for the $5 discount for first time web orders. So splitting fulfillment orders is not a good practice.

jpdude 05-25-05 06:56 PM

I have a code to share, not sure if it'll work for everyone though...but it's worth a shot:

The Code # is 801098:
Get a FREE DVD (of equal or lesser value) when you buy one at $19.95 or higher!*

*Plus shipping & processing. Upcoming Releases, Director's Selections, Sets and other specially priced items will not participate in this offer as the free unit.

My letter from CH says that it's a "limited time offer" but does not specify an expiration date for this offer.

Legolas 05-25-05 07:13 PM

^ Thanks for the code, but when I put it in, it just tells me it's free shipping on three titles, which is the already default deal currently.

GeoffreyL 05-25-05 09:06 PM

The Code # is 801098:
Get a FREE DVD (of equal or lesser value) when you buy one at $19.95 or higher!*

The code works for me. It doesn't list it as an offer, but once I add 2 titles to my cart, one is subtracted as a discount.

JoN8282 05-25-05 09:36 PM

this code works for me as welj. it also did count the full price title as a commitment, and worked with one pre-order - the free one can not be a pre-order. it also worked with set's in that a set can net you a free dvd - it will not give up free set's. however the set did come up at the special price and were able to count as more then 1 commitment, very nice if you are fufilling an account.

budster7 05-26-05 12:48 AM

Actually this code (801098) does work for me now after I tried playing around with how many selections I wanted to count toward fulfillment. However, I still cannot get more than 1 title to count as a fulfillment (even when I select I want two to count) when I add 4 $19.95 titles to my cart. It shows 1 title at $19.95, 1 Free, and the other two at $9.98.

budster7 05-26-05 02:06 AM

Both free shipping codes for no min purchase (801059, 804159) seem to have expired?

sabre 05-26-05 09:48 AM

this code works screwy. one minute it worked then i added something to my cart and the freeness of the dvd disappeared.

JoN8282 05-27-05 05:24 PM

think it's about time for this nifty little script to get run again...

mpaul39 05-28-05 06:41 PM

I updated it tonight. There isn't as much this time, but All On Sale is back. I have several codes that came up but were blank - last time I threw them out, but I realized that they're probably codes that exist but not for my account. I was able to find out what a few of them were on my second account, the rest I left as "unknown", so try them out and tell us if you find anything. Hopefully this weekend I'll get the webpage up.

mpaul39 05-28-05 06:53 PM

Something I noticed about the AOS code - 14.95 titles are $5.95 if you buy one at regular price, but the sale price of other DVDs counts as the regular price, so you can get a $19.95 DVD for the sale price of $12.95 and then pick up a couple 5.95 ones.

Dude, you are a DVDTalk Bargain Forum GOD right now! I said it before and I'll say it again...GREAT JOB :)

GeoffreyL 05-28-05 07:46 PM

801040 50% off when you buy 1 at regular
801098 buy one @ $19.95 buy one free.
The others did nothing that I noticed.

SFranke 05-28-05 07:53 PM

Just so no one gets confused, the 801098 code comes up blank, but it works when you put 19.95 items in the cart.

Bill Needle 05-28-05 10:22 PM

Thanks!

JoN8282 05-28-05 11:42 PM

dude your amazing... now we need to figure out what dvd's are part of some of these sales...

mpaul39 06-01-05 06:07 PM

Okay guys, I updated it again. I'm going out of town so I won't be online until next Friday, so I won't be able to update it until then. I didn't put up the website because I don't trust it to run by itself while I'm gone, at least not for the first time, because it's still a little glitchy.

Anyway, 804047 looks like the best deal right now - 20% off and it counts for commitment, so you can take a $19.95 title for $15.96 and it will count, but unfortunately it doesn't work with box sets or preorders (that would have been awesome if it stacked with the 50% boxset sale). Also, it works with the deal of the day, which might be nice if you want to get it on a preferred account (the discount would cover the .99 shipping). This expires 6/10.

The "Email Exclusive - Bestselling titles for only $7.95!" sale sounded promising, but it doesn't seem to work for me; I tried it with titles on the top 100 list but the prices were normal.

JoN8282 06-01-05 11:52 PM

Thank You!
