FYI: 801299 is 50% off everything, with no regular price purchase required. No free shipping, unfortunately... but ok if you just absolutely have to buy something now. It's the best code working right now.

thejester 05-08-06 08:11 PM

806199 is a 50% off everything (non-set) code as well.

806152, 806178, 807778 & 808278 all come back as invalid. Several other of the "unknowns" don't show ANY discounts (even for sets).

Thanks again for the update mpaul39.

Too bad the 60% off code didn't stick around for a while - kinda was waiting for a site-wide free S&H special. :(

Eelkram 05-09-06 06:55 PM

The link to the codes hasn't been working for me for the last day. Will it be back soon? If not, what are the current good codes?

basaro 05-09-06 07:08 PM

didn't look very hard, did you?
they're on page 15, 1 page back ;)

Eelkram 05-09-06 07:43 PM

I was looking at the link on the first post :(

thejester 05-11-06 11:15 PM

WARNING -

For those that used the 806199 -or- 806277 offer codes for 50% or 60% off titles last month on orders & subsequently had those orders disappear, CHECK your order history!!!

I used 6199 (didn't know about 6277) & my order disappearred a week later. 3-4 weeks later, it re-appearred - in 3 separate orders. And, no max on S&H of $15 - like when I placed the order.

Just FYI.

jpdude 05-12-06 12:27 AM

^816199 is the code i've been using for 50% off, with no problems.

BOWLTR 05-12-06 06:05 AM

Are you people using these codes as members or non members? I assume that you are members when you use a 50% off code right? Why not just join-cancel-rejoin over and over. I just did it with LMY and went for the 7-2 deal and then got two free for buying the two commitments. So I got 11 for about 5.60 per dvd. Did I do well?

I used the 50% off code for the MGM(?) titles that CH has mis-priced as $7.95. Which would get them(20) to me for a little over $5 each after discount, max S&H & tax.

Would you WASTE an enrollment pkg on $7.95 MSRP titles????? Not I.

BOWLTR 05-12-06 10:11 AM

Jester tell me how to do that. Are you a member and how do you find just MGm titles? What am I missing?

There's a thread here about the mgm titles, check it out.

I just got an email for a buy 3 for $25 promo which looks very similar to a promo last year where I think you could order 2 DVDs for $15 and with a B1G1F (BOGO) code for each of these $7.50 DVDs regularly priced $19.95 or higher you could get a free DVD. This seems to be almost the exact same set of titles (Bad Boys, Must Love Dogs, Vacation, Shaun of the Dead, etc.) except it's 3 for $25. I'd guess CH probably fixed that error anyway, so even if we had a B1G1F code it wouldn't work, plus shipping kills it now.

What's sad and funny is if you start with a 50% off code like 806199, it looks like you don't need a regular priced purchase so you can buy most of these at $7.48 or less, but as soon as you add the 3rd title from the list the price jumps from $7.48 to $8.33 each.

Does anyone know if this 3-for-25 offer counts as a fulfillment like it used to?

just tried. it does not.

Yes, and I imagine its killing their sales. I cant imagine buying from any of their sales now. I could have lived with losing preferred shipping rate, but the fact that there is no max is rediculous.

Exactly... I put together an order the other day and was about to pull the trigger, but the final page brought up the shipping charges, which were over $34 (!!!!!)

That sorta kills any potential savings you may get with a 50-60% off sale. I can't imagine anyone sticking around beyond the initial commitment point any more. You can find better prices just about anywhere else... Amazon, etc.

Columbia House Canada presently has a Buy 1 DVD for $9.95 CDN and get 2 more free. No commitement to purchase anything else. Guaranteed!

The best part - FREE SHIPPING on your introductory order.

Code - 9W6

That's decent! Too bad Canada only.

PS - That code may be better suited for the Better Code Thread.

I just tried this, and unfortunately it did not work. Using the current BOGO code (807748--which is still working as of 5 minutes ago) I tried adding 3 for $25 titles which had a 19.95 regular price, and adding other 19.95 titles. Only the titles outside of the 3/25 were counting toward the BOGO (meaning, if I added only one extra 19.95 title, NOTHING was free, but if I added two of them, one would be free). So, no deals to be had with the 3/25 sale, but at least we have a working BOGO code...

I am about to order 2 of these 3 titles (all pre-orders for $19.99) to fullfill my account (LMT 7+2):

Syriana
Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
Underworld: Evolution SE

Is there a code working now that can enable me to get even more DVD's and maintain or lower my ave. cost per disc, or should I just go ahead and buy 2 to fullfill because there are no good codes right now?

Edit: I could get the answer to this question if I read all the threads but I think this would be an easy question for a DVDtalker who is willing to help, thanks in advance.

Get 1 free DVD with every regularly priced DVD with this code: 807748 . Shipping still applies.

Thanks, I am giving that a try, although CH will not give me any $ totals in my cart. I guess I better pick titles that have a sale or regular price that is no higher than $19.95 (eg. House of Flying Daggers)

Sandyk67 05-15-06 04:35 PM

I just placed an order using code 807748

Ten Commandments-counts toward commitment
It Came From Outer Space-free
Seuss Celebration-counts toward commitment
Stagecoach-free

order total: 41.90 + 8.96 shipping= 50.86 (I don't pay taxes at CH)

Not bad after checking prices in other places and it takes care of my commitment for this account.

Also don't forget to sign in through this webpage for an additional $5 off: columbiahouse.com/webdvd

The prices not showing up is a bad sign. Whenever this happens to me the discounts are never applied.

supfool! 05-16-06 02:52 AM

Somebody get me a b1g1 free with free shipping quick. That shit is cool and I've been waiting for a while, I'm about to break and pay for shipping which suck butthole!
