I have the exact same predicament this morning. A "new order" replaced the old asterisks order (but minus the $5 webdiscount and a higher price for Wedding Crashers).

Was your call to CH successful and were you able to get the right price?

I called Friday but it was too soon to change anything. I was told the best thing to do is let the order process and then they will credit me the difference. The weekend and holiday are stretching the time frame a bit, but I should be able to take care of it tomorrow.

Just wanted to let you know that I called a little while back and talked to a customer service rep. He credited $8 ($3 for wedding crashers and $5 for webdvd). I don't see anything reflected in my online account yet. I am just going to wait 2 or 3 days and see if the amount is credited to my account (and credit card). If not, I will have to call again by the end of the week.

Is Babylon 5 awaiting stock in your order history. I was also accepted today for an HDL membership and B5 is out of stock for me.:(

dsa_shea 01-16-06 06:46 PM

Looks like 800224 is still working. I wonder when they'll disable it. Too bad I have no more cash to spend at the time.

I just checked and yeah it does say that. That stinks. :(

As of 8:30 AM 1/17, 800224 is still working

mpaul39 01-17-06 02:24 PM

Here's another B1G1 code I found with the code miner: 809721

It's different from 800224 because it doesn't give you free shipping on 3, but it does give you the sale price for unpaired DVDs (i.e. if you add a 3rd dvd for 14.95 it will show up as 7.48 instead of 14.95, but this isn't as useful if you can't get free shipping).

What a way to sink that hook further into my wallet. Those bastards must have found out I get paid on the 20th of the month.

You can find the sets available for enrollment in the TV Edition - Available for Enrollment List Thread.

The HDL deal is two sets for $9.95, buy two DVDs for $19.95 or more (each) to fulfill your membership obligation. To say that this is a spectacular deal would be putting it mildly... Downside is the limited selection of enrollments; once one has all of those that one wants one has to wait and hope that new enrollment sets will be offered.

Which is why I enrolled 3 times when the TV club first started, then haven't joined again since. Although I'm thinking of joining again now, to get the I Love Lucy sets...

I typed in the LMT code on the TV Club site, and everything works just as with the regular DVD club. 6 DVDs, free shipping, 7th for 9.95, and buy 2 in 2 years. Is this possible that it could work for the TV Club as well? I honestly just can't find 7 TV enrollments I want, but I get all the way to checkout and everything works. Anyone done this yet and had it work?

I believe numerous attempts have been made but everyone ends up receiving one of CH's typical rejection letters.

mpaul39 02-03-06 04:22 PM

There are a lot of new codes on the http://randomcafe.net/ch/codes.php page. I don't know if they've been mentioned yet in other threads, but I saw some new B1G1 codes (expiring 2/12), and a 40% off sets code. I haven't tested any of them.

When one uses a legitimate TV Edition code there will be a TV Edition logo at the top of the page. When one uses an invalid code there is no TV Edition logo. As Dorsalphin said, many have tried to used a regular club code, all have been rejected.

Thanks for the new codes! Btw 809235 shows up as 50% off when you buy 1 at regular price and double funcash on orders over $35. Alas not 40% off boxsets.

rolandbozz 02-07-06 02:05 AM

thanks a million for all you guys do on here. i'm so glad i found this place. i just got:

Ben-Hur Collector's Edition - 29.96
The Third Man: The Criterion Collection - FREE
Waiting... Unrated and Raw - 9.98

I had to throw another DVD in there to be able to use the $5 Web coupon since I was 4 cents short, but still awesome since that's about $100 of DVDs for 46 bucks (with shipping...grrr). i used 804021 - the B1G1 code. cheers!

kalaharibushman 02-12-06 11:35 PM

Here's some of CH's classic fuzzy math:

Snatch Deluxe Edition - $9.98
American Pie 3-pack - $21.46
Dr. Strangelove 40th Anniversary - Free
WebDVD - $-5
S&H and Tax - $13.05

Total: $40.49 but they gave me the most expensive dvd free.
