Is this related to the deal of the day ? I've been posting these in that thread:

http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthr...hreadid=394217

but we should start a new one just for DOTD.

Thanks, picking up Legend UE with tax and free shipping for $7.45. I am surprised, with the fun cash weirdness and this deal of the day, Columbia House is almost making it worth it to remain a member (I said almost).

It doesn't look like these are DOTD sales. I've noticed that occasionally titles will go on deep discounted sale like this with no other purchase necessary. They're usually priced somewhere between $4.95-7.95. I assume it's probably because they have overstock and are trying to clear out some copies.

Todd B., You may be right but Galaxy Quest, at least, was a Deal of the Day on November 13. An advantage of getting it as a DotD is that shipping seems to be free for a single title (on a fulfilled account, at least; shipping was still present on my unfulfilled account). I realize that with the current "free shipping for three" promotion this difference isn't necessarily important.

Lizard . . . there's free shipping on everything. Even if you buy just one title it ships free.

No, it is not FREE SHIPPING on any title. I have 2 accounts that are fulfilled. One of them has Free Shipping on anything plus 50% off when buy 1. The other, however, has Free Shipping on 3 and 40% off when buy 1.

I don't doubt you, I seem to have that promotion, albeit without the cute graphic, on my fulfilled account. But not on the unfulfilled account. My guess is that all fulfilled accounts have free shipping until January 3rd. Like ga_con said, I am finding it very hard to close my account with free shipping given these deals that keep popping up. One never knows when a good one will appear... Free shipping for everything changes everything!

Sometimes people confuse "ordered enough pre-orders to fulfill" with "enough titles processed and shipped to fulfill." CH doesn't consider you fulfilled until the titles are shipped.
