How can I retain the webdvd discount

Placed an order for 2 dvds preorder wont be avail for another month and got the $5 discount.

1. Can I change one of the dvds and still keep the $5 discount

2. If I cancel the order, can I place another order, and use the $5 discount

1.) Should be able to. Remove one from the cart (assuming deleting one falls under the $30 minimum) and then adding another should bring the $5 back. If it doesn't, remove both selections, select LOGOUT, then log back in via http://www.columbiahouse/webdvd link and add accordingly.

2.) Since you have to cancel an already-placed order with a CSR, I'd inquire about it to him/her -- I don't see why not.

I think the answers are "no" and "no". Why do you want to change your initial order????

You can do what you that, but only over the phone. You will need to explain the situation to the customer service rep. If they won't do it, hang up and call back and get another one. I had them give me the $5 off one time when I forgot to apply it by logging in through the correct web page before ordering. I called in, explained that to them, and they simply gave me a $5 credit. Took about 5 minutes.

Yes, it is normal for there to be a delay before things show up on your web account, but they should show up. If not, you may wish to call back and ask the CSR to verify that the change shows up on their "real" computer system. (see Evitagen's message about repeating..... )

Don't expect much in the way of updating what you see in your account on the web for at least a couple of days. If it doesn't look right by the end of the week, give them a call and verify it. They are notoriously slow to update, especially over the weekend.

While not entirely related, I bought 2 DVDs and pre-ordered a 3rd so I could get free shipping a while back. I called up about a week before the DVD came out and they canceled the pre-order and didn't charge me for shipping

The first time web order discount has been in effect continuously since 2002. It shows no signs of going away. Columbia House would like to encourage its customers to use the web site, as opposed to more expensive phone and mail orders.

First of all, Devynal left out the .com of the link. Secondly, you cant simply click the link, you must cut and past or type the whole address into your web browser.
