Billy Wilder Collection for cheap!!

Columbia House has the Billy Wilder collection(which includes 9 Billy Wilder DVDs) for $29.96.

With Shipping and taxes it came out to $40!!

I'm not sure if this is an error or what. Just thought you guys may want to know.

The 9 DVDs are...

Included in the set:

-Some Like It Hot: SE
-Avanti!
-One Two Three
-The Apartment
-Irma La Douce
-The Fortune Cookie
-The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes
-Witness for the Prosecution
-Kiss Me, Stupid

This is definately interesting.. has anyone dealt with Columbia House mispricing to know if they would honor this? I don't use a card on their site so I am very tempted to try this because if it isn't what I was wanting I can just send it back without a charge mess.

Placed an order for this then got Butterfly Effect for $12 since it was buy 1 get 50% off. Should this belong in the DVD Clubs forum?

Couldn't help myself for $37.95.. equals out to about $4.20 per DVD. Figured I would give it a go see what happens.

Thanks MrTerrific! Even though I have a couple of these titles already, I couldn't resist the chance to get the Box Set for cheap.

I don't have an active CH account right now. Is there anything I can do right now?

Thanks Pilot I wasn't sure if this belonged in "bargains" or "dvd clubs".

I've already ordered and received my set. When everything went through and I got the set I figured I'd post for everyone else to get in on the deal.

Thanks MrTerrific, haven't even gotten my enrollments yet and I'm already fulfilling the account. This will be the the cheapest per disc account I've ever had.

I wish I had free shipping, but that's still a great deal!

Nice deal! I had to jump on this when I noticed the same set goes for $116.96 at Amazon. I haven't even seen any of these movies but how can you go wrong at this price.

I'm tempted but not sure if I might be better off just picking up a couple with future accounts since all are available seperately.

One isn't anamorphic and a couple sound like they received iffy transfers. Still, saves about $20 if one wants all of them and in one simple order. Thanks MrTerrific for sharing.

Hmm, decisions..

Thanks for the post! I had been waiting for free shipping to come around on my account and it just did, so I ordered this and some other things to fulfill my account. Quite a deal.

I checked my Account History this morning and it shows "Awaiting stock" for this title. I hope they don't recheck the list price when it comes back in stock.

Same here bhauge. They already show a billable balance for the other DVD I ordered, but not for the box yet. Hmmm, I really hope this ships.

I can't say I believe what Columbia House customer service is going to say.. some sites had this deal listed before it was listed here I noticed. A little late I looked and found it elsewhere after it was already posted here so I am imagining a whole lot were ordered before us here did. Doubtful we will receive it now because of this Awaiting Stock situation but I suppose you never know.

Is there a way to order this without being a member currently? If its not possible, perhaps someone wants to work out a deal? PM me. or e-mail me at [email protected]

Any updates on this? My order is still "awaiting stock" but the other items I ordered at the same time have already shipped.

Mine still says awaiting stock.

cfloyd3, which site scooped us on this? It surprises me that somewhere else keeps tabs on CH =P.

The Criterion Forum looked to have posted this before it was posted here... didn't get many replies there but I am sure it got plenty of orders. Still Awaiting Stock for me too, not looking good.

I talked to a CSR this morning about another matter and before I hung up, I asked about the status of my order. She said that it was still awaiting stock but she thought that they should have more in shortly (probably a standard reply). She did say that they've sold a lot of that title lately! Didn't say a word
