I'm in the CH Canada music club, and they now have a deal that allows you to buy DVDs to fulfill your agreement to the club. The problem is that the titles in the magazine and site are slim (you have to join the club to get full access to the catalogue). I was wondering if anyone could tell me which horror titles are available from CH Canada? And if so, if you'd list some of the titles available in the horror genre section, it'd be great! Thanks a lot!

I read Blacula was available through CH USA, if anyone could search for it in the Canadian database, it'd be much appreciated.

Could you tell me the price of the Carrie SE, Dead & Buried and Ginger Snaps please? I had hoped that the Carrie disc would be carried by them and now I know it does, so happy! I've heard about a Canadian release of Ginger Snaps, do you know if this is it?

They wouldn't happen to have The Prowler, Shock Waves or the Toolbox Murders would they from BU? Maniac, Madman, Deep Red/Tenebre, Nightmare City, Initiation/Mountaintop Motel Massacre Double Feature from AB? Re-Animator from Image? I doubt they'll have most of these, but I'm surely getting Carrie. Thanks a lot!

They wouldn't happen to have Two Evil Eyes, would they? What is the price on Near Dark and Basket Case? I just noticed that a lot of these titles are priced at 14.95 and for them to count, they have to be 14.98, so I won't be able to get the cheapies Is the Carrie disc not on sale? Above it just says, 19.99.

As for joining the club, I've often thought about it, however, as you probably have noticed, I really only buy horror on DVD, and the introductory offer DVDs always suck, so I never bother.

Just get a friend who is already a member to sign you up and you can get any enrollment title that is available, not just the crappy top 200 on the website.

I think I will join. But, how do you know if a DVD counts as two? Like, Near Dark is 2 DVDs, does that count as 2 enrollment selections? I've heard they do it by price in the states (if it's over so much money, they count it as 2), do they do that here too?

None of the enrollment qualifying DVD's count as 2 selections even if they have 2 disks.

No, there is nothing on the website saying what is available as an enrollment. Only in the catalogues that you receive in the mail does it mark which are/are not available. Overall it is, I'd say 95% the same as the USA one with the same timetable for what date the new releases become available as enrollments.

Every title I listed myself is availabe as an enrollment.

Are they available on CH Canada? If so, what are the codes/prices?

It says that Blacula isn't available as an enrollment selection in the U.S. yet, so I'll have to wait on that. But, as it stands today (assuming this is all correct) I'm going to get the 7 most expensive ones to join the club, and get the cheaper ones to finish off my music club. You've been great help

I almost bought Dead & Buried at Future Shop for $38.99!! I haven't seen it yet, but have heard great things!

And, the thing is, the sale prices are in effect for the music club, and since Blacula is $14.95, it's 3 cents lower than the $14.98 minimum price. Is the minimum price for them to count in the DVD club $14.95 or $19.95? How much is shipping per DVD?

They wouldn't happen to have Last House on the Left would they? I heard it got banned in Canada!? I don't know why this would be, as you can find titles like I Spit on Your Grave that deal with similar themes available at any HMV and Future Shop?

Thanks to both of you! I'm gonna phone customer service tomorrow and figure out if the sale applies to the music members too (all of the discs in the mag are at 25% off roughly) to figure out which titles I'm gonna pay for in the music club (cheapest ones) and get the expensive ones with the DVD club membership. If the deal is in effect, I'm gonna get Basket Case and Child's Play 2 as a part of my music deal, and The Thing, The Birds, Dead & Buried, Near Dark, NOTLD '90, and for the 19.99 selection (only have to buy 2 more after it) will be American Werewolf in London. I don't think I'll do the 14.95 one, because most of the titles I want are 20-25 bucks and it won't be worth it. May as well just join again right after I get done the first time instead and basically have one title taken care of. I'm sure it works out cheaper that way.

I have e-mailed CH Canada and they told me that 2 disc sets are not allowed to be taken as free selections. Did anyone take 2 disc sets when they joined? Crap, 1/2 the discs on their site offered for free are 2 disc sets! When you guys get a magazine, if you could tell me if the selections below have the black circle, triangles, etc... beside them that would make them not be a free selection, please let me know. CH representatives stories are conflicting and it's really confusing...

Dead and Buried is in the latest catalogue and there is no little black circle beside it, so it is available as an enrollment.

Near Dark isn't in the new catalogue, or in the previous one, but I've seen it there and I know it's available as an enrollment.

Who ever you got emailed by from CHC, is clueless. I just signed up a few weeks ago and received Scarface, A Christmas Story SE, and Casablanca SE, all of these are 2 disc editions. Some of the ones they have on the top 200 for signing up on their website are 2 disc editions.

Yeah, Smegger, they have me lost and confused. It's quite unappealing to know that the Customer Service people have no idea of what they are doing. Do they know NOTHING about DVDs? All the top hits nowadays are double discers and on the Top 200.

Well, the attempt I made in 2004 failed as I apparantly wasn't accepted. Well, I got another application in the mail and they do have 6 titles on their website that I'd want, so I'm gonna go that route this time, but was just wondering if anyone in CH Canada could help me with horror titles they have that are the price (or within a few dollars) of the minimum price there is to fulfill my agreement. I don't really wanna join until I can find out for sure what horror titles that are near the minimum amount so that I can mae the most out of joining. Any help would be appreciated, and more thanks to the people who helped me out before.

P.S. I did refer to some titles mentioned above, but I'm not sure if the prices have changed, just wanting to check.
