For $15 each, which in my opinion isnt a good deal at all, Id rather give some LEGIT business my business...Not someone who is guilty of evading taxes, as I sure this guy doesnt report this money...Also in case it breaks or you have some other problem you can easily return it if you buy at a REAL store....

For the past few months I see all you NYC area DVD talkers creaming in your pants about a lousy deal...I mean honestly, 15 bucks each and too good a deal plus you are giving some shady dude your money....Just my opinion.
<HR>

- find me a B&M that sells SE Bonds for $15.

Your assumptions of the vendor may or may not be accurate but no one should pass judgement on those who partake in these types of deals. I'm not saying that you are passing judgement.

As for the credibility of the vendor, He lets me exchanged dvds that I didn't even get from him. Plus he lets me slide on a few bucks when I'm short on gash.

I truly don't know for sure that I'm contributing to a criminal enterprise and I'm not about to ask him. He has a street vendor license and I've never seen him get hassled by the cops. As a matter of fact, I've seen cops pull up and purchase dvds from him. As for the tax evasion, good for him if he doesn't pay taxes. I don't like the way tax dollars are spent by NY state anyway.

I respect your opinion but I would venture to say that given some of the "shady" deals I've seen dvdtalkers take advantage of, your a lone wolf on this one.

"Leave the gun. Take the cannoli." - I pray I'll hear these words on dvd some day (excluding "You've Got Mail", thanks chitowndvd).

Has anyone seen this guy lately? Does he have anything good? My brother works in the area and if the guy has been around, I'll ask him to swing by and pick me up a few DVDs

He was there on Friday. Boy was he getting MAD. It looked like they had a little more to choose from then usual and he was so swamped you had to wait "on line" just to see the table. People were pushing the table in the street everyone was screaming. You would have thought they were free. He was also saying that if this kept up he would not be coming back.

I'm also guessing that he does not charge you
sales tax since he is a street vendor. Can anyone confirm?

I've never been there.. but no... most titles are $15 each or sometimes 2 for $25... My brother told me he says, "I don't charge you tax so I don't give you a bag" or something like that..

I went there today. He's there but all he's got is BOXES and I mean BOXES of Playstation games & accessories (and some Dreamcast stuff). No PS2 games or accessories though. He said he may have some DVD's next week.

I'm hoping for a sighting on Friday. A plea to those who work in the area: please keep your fellow NYers advised.

Stopped by 5 minutes ago. He's there, but still only Playstation games and accessories (and some SNES). No PS2 stuff. No DVD's. But he is the same person that sells the DVD's.
