Gotta talk about this...

There is an ice cream playset - plastic scoops and cones. Who is this made for? Would this be for some greater playset like one of those kitchen deals; mini sink, oven and frig? I don't understand why this exist.

And I can't find the DVD price for "Willy's Wonderland" - it does exist. Probably in store.

My grandkids, when in the 3-6yo stage, loved those fake ice cream play sets. Theirs had velcro to hold the ice cream scoops on the cone. I thought it was rather silly but my wife insisted we get one (and one of the girls had asked for it specifically so...). The kids would play for hours making cones and serving them to us - right along with the fake food on plastic plates.

My kid didn’t have that but he had all kinds of play food sets and loved to serve us and the cats meals. It’s an important part of their development to mimic life functions like that.

Okay. Feels weird. I get the mock foods, the pretend stuff. The ice cream seems over the top and over priced.

I agree - purchased it anyway at the wife's insistence...

Okay. At that price - does the plastic at least smell like the flavors?

For the one I purchased (which I believe was the same brand), thankfully - no. :)

Our kids loved playing chef with all those fake plastic foods. Ice cream and treats are especially popular because in real life, they are "sometimes foods" and rare. With a toy ice cream cone, you never run out, you can have as much as you want, and no one tells you that you're having too much. It is true fantasy play and when they were in preschool they loved it.
