Flea Market DVDs - where do they buy from at such cheap prices

I was at a really large flea market in TN last weekend and there were a lot of vendors selling DVDs including Disney and New Releases unopened for $4 each. I would like to know where/who they would be buying these from, it's probably rude to ask them directly. The flea market is situated a 100 miles from where I am at so I would not be any kind of competition for them. But everyone of them had the same ones and same price. Thanks for any help, hoping I'm not on stepping on anyone's toes. Apologies if I am.

I would guess China or Sri Lanka though just about any Organized Crime organization is just as likely to be the source
I would also just about promise those are 'unlicensed' editions.

Could have also been a recent local store closing that blew them out at even cheaper than $4 a disc.

Figured they would be pirated copies from overseas somewhere. Thanks for your help.

Sealed Disney at $4 are almost certainly Chinese pirates.

Remember getting a sealed copy of Baseketball at a flea market for about $10 in 1999, that was ridiculously cheap then- but it's definitely legit. There were a few sellers in the 90s with new-release VHS movies pretty cheap also, with the "hype stickers" and everything on the covers that would've been impossible to fake.

Cheap Disney movies are almost always Chinese counterfeit imports. A fair number of legitimate copies trade on eBay very likely stolen from Walmart. Walmart must not have very good security at all - eBay and the like are awash in stolen movies from Walmart. Pretty much any new media release carried by Walmart soon shows up at selling sites for significant discounts. You can tell they are from Walmart because they'll carry the oddball horror and sci-fi movies that only Walmart ever carries in stores.

Not Disney, but other BB, Walmart, etc exclusives also get offered to overstock wholesalers, who then sell them to retailers who often do sell on ebay & amazon. Back when my net business actually made money, I purchased a number of them.

Re: Flea Market DVDs - where do they buy from at such cheap prices

I used to work at a Half Price Books that was right across the street from a Wal-Mart. We would see people walking across the parking lot right over to our store with multiple copies of the same title (huge red flag). Sometimes they'd get smart and spread it around and steal different titles, we'd find the wrappers outside. Same thing happened with stuff they ripped off from Big Lots, I'd see stuff in the same order I'd just perused on my lunch hour.

Yep, if you find any good titles at a pawn shop, or used good titles at HPB, they are probably stolen.
