I got the Poltergeist 2 and 3 Blu-Ray set there last year for $5. Gotten a few other good titles there cheap occasionally also.

Re: Dollar General store. horror movies in time for Halloween

I was at the Dollar General store earlier today just to look around for bags of halloween candy to give to kids on Halloween.

In the Halloween costume aisle i looked up on the top shelf area and lo and behold I saw a cardboard box rack thing of some more horror movies for DVD for 5 bucks each.

I found and bought the Special Edition DVD of Candyman 1 and i was tempted to get Insidious 2 since I need Insidious 2 to complete my Insidious series.

I could barely reach the darn cardboard box rack of the horror movies that way high but I managed to grab a few out at a time to see what there were for movies for DVD. Mostly all Elvira, Ghostbusters 1, Children of the Corn, Insidious 2 and Candyman

Interestingly, my store had Joe Dante’s Piranha (Not the Shout/Scream one, but the OOP “Roger Corman Classics” Version) Since Dollar General appears to have a deal with Sony by stocking nearly all their movies, I’m guessing the 3-D remake was meant to be in stores instead of this one. Went ahead and bought it anyway!

Did some looking into it - "Piranha".

Does your copy come with the two inserts; Theatrical Marketing Guide and The History of Roger Corman?

If so, I might look into my store just for those extras. The 2010 SE carries over all the bonuses.

^All it had was the lengthy 20th Anniversary booklet. Pretty elaborate for back in the day.

Re: Dollar General store. horror movies in time for Halloween

I went to the Dollar General store earlier today to see if there was anything left for horror movies for DVD from Halloween time.

I bought

Exorcism of Molly Hartley Unrated DVD
28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later Fullscreen double pack. Mostly bought it for 28 Weeks Later anyway
Silent Hill. Had to buy it since I bought Silent Hill for DVD from the pawn shop weeks ago and its scratched up a little where it freezes at Chapter 15.

I was tempted to buy the DVD of Nightmare on Elm Street 5 but ive seen it enough bunch of times.
