What's the deal with cheap boxed sets from China on eBay?
 

Done boxed sets in looking at are like 25% or more cheaper from a few China users, anyone have experience with this?

Almost 100% chance they are bootlegs.

If you have some links other folks can check/chime in, but many that I have seen listings are of items that were never released anywhere in the world.

DVD sets 'Region Free"
BD that won't play in Consoles because they're burned discs

Complete sets of TV series of less than cost of a single season.
Cheap sets of OOP movies or TV sets.
About 75% of the BD StarWars Complete Saga

Screams pirate to me -- all of a sudden a poster registered on Ebay for 3 years with a dozen sales in a year and 4-5 in the last 6 months, with a suspicious User Name, suddenly has only a hundred items for sale of multiple Complete DVD Boxsets at half the price of the going rate and from CHINA.

If they're not bootlegs I would probably eat the booklet with some A1 sauce

EBay + China + Cheap = Bootleg

Really, just about anything on eBay coming from China is going to be counterfeit. DVDs, purses, designer clothes, electronics, toys... Caveat Emptor.

As someone who's been to mainland China and Hong Kong, I can also pretty much guarantee that any U.S. movies or TV shows sold really cheap originating from there is a bootleg.

Some of those show up used in stores around here, they usually have cloth sleeves inside like the ones used in CD binders. Never bought any to see how bad they are.
