99 Cent Only Store New Selection of DVD Movies
I just got back from the 99 cent store. They had about 100 new dvds on the shelf. Mostly contemporary films. I saw a lot of modern horror movies, but I didn't recognize any of the stars. I did purchase Giallo directed by Dario Argento, and starring Adrian Brody. There were a few oldies mixed in. A Benji double feature, the best of Marcus Welby 2-disc set, a Mill Creek 10-movie horror collection, Gene Simmons Family Jewels seasons 1 and 2, a Yogi Bear Easter special cartoon.

Thank for the info. I'll check my store the next time I'm there.

Thanks for the tip- got more shelf-filling fodder that I couldn't pass up including both Gene Simmons seasons and a cartoon for kids about what to do when someone dies.

a cartoon for kids about what to do when someone dies. It is Halloween after all. |
Re: 99 Cent Only Store New Selection of DVD Movies
Was going to post this last night. But we got hit with a big thunder storm; turned off and unplugged my computer. I say this since it's been well over a decade since something like this happened. Usually it's a few, but this was a barrage, one right after another; a couple of hours. Like out of a horror movie.
Anyhow, I found these, not the greatest of titles. But it's the first new DVDs in quite a long while. No order... "Gansters, Guns And Zombies" - blind buy, could be crap (well more than likely, but I can use the case) "Kong: King Of Atlantis" - just for the case, it's from Warner so I know it's a good one. "The Forger" - bought because Hayden Panettiere is in it. It's a buck so no loss if it's garbage. "John Oliver: Terrifying Times" - I know him first as the Professor on "Community", could be interesting. "Noobz" - This was something I wanted, but could not find any stores which carried it. "Gene Simmons: Family Jewels - The Complete Season 1" - blind buy. "Gene Simmons: Family Jewels - The Complete Season 2" - blind buy; I'll give it a try. Not a bad haul, but this was the best pickings at my store. The rest were stuff you have to pay me to take home. Oh and it was a small catch of new titles, not like how Ron Lee Green described, his was lucky. |

Wait?
Patrica Velasquez from "The Mummy" (1999) and Richard Grieco. Wow, that's... Special. |

Re: 99 Cent Only Store New Selection of DVD Movies
Visited another store, lots of crap.
BUT... They have "Bounty Killer" for a buck. I can not recommend this enough, so over the top Mad Max style mayhem; the choreograph final battle was quite nice. The gun caddy works, in a way it reminds me of "Equilibrium". Also picked up a CGI flick "Galerian: Rion" a two disc set with CD soundtrack. Don't know, could be crap. Well probably is. |
Re: 99 Cent Only Store New Selection of DVD Movies
Back yet again.
Another store. Picked up one title; for the case - a double feature; "Bejni" and "For The Love Of Benji". Something of note. I have yet to run into any more copies of "Gene Simmons: Family Jewels", I'm glad I bought mine when I did. Was hoping to find more to buy for the slim cases, no such luck. |
Re: 99 Cent Only Store New Selection of DVD Movies
Wish I'd known about Bounty Killer sooner, looks interesting, most dvds have gone. A couple days ago I did find in the display

Re: 99 Cent Only Store New Selection of DVD Movies
Did not see that at any of the stores.
