Best Buy: Assorted TV seasons $4.99 each (YMMV?)

My local Best Buy has a bin with a "$4.99 & up" sign filled with TV seasons. I was digging through it today and noticed that while most of the bin is marked $9.99 (or unmarked), there were some with $4.99 stickers. This is what I can remember finding for $4.99:

The Bridge season 1
Burn Notice seasons 1 & 2
Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman season 1
How I Met Your Mother seasons 7 & 8
Magic City season 1
New Girl seasons 1 & 2
Saved By the Bell seasons 1/2 & 3/4
White Collar seasons 1 & 2

I picked up New Girl season 1 & 2 and they both rang up $9.99 so they had to be adjusted.

I saw this too, I appreciate the inventory and the pricing but I HATE those stupid dump bins.

"Magic City" is a good show, too bad it got axed after two seasons; ends in a cliffhanger of sorts.

Thanks for the info Rexxriot.

Thanks for posting, OP.

Found everything you listed this afternoon, with the exception of the 2nd season of White Collar. In addition, I discovered Boy Meets World: Season 5.

Good deal, despite the pain of going through the bin which was located right next to the registers (I was asked once whether I was in line and another lady lined up behind me as if I was in line). On top of that, every one of these titles was priced $4.99, but rang up $9.99 or $14.99 so someone had to come over and do a price adjustment on every single one.

Edit: There were other shows/seasons in the bin that didn't have a specific price on them. In hindsight, I wish I had taken one or 2 to the register to see what price came up. Odds might have been good they'd have adjusted them down to $4.99 as well.

At the Best Buy I visited this bin was listed as "$9.99 and Up". I wonder if they caught a pricing mistake and never intended to sell those seasons at $4.99? Those are pretty good deals at the lower price.

I couldn't find this bin at my local store when I was there.

Thankfully, a movie is in the works.

Re: Best Buy: Assorted TV seasons $4.99 each (YMMV?)

Some important information about this deal:

I discovered that Best Buy has an offer in this week's ad -- buy $50 in TV seasons, receive a $10 gift card. Buy $100 in TV seasons, receive a $25 gift card. When I was at my store on Monday, I didn't see any signage about this. As a result, I picked up 10 of the $4.99 seasons ($49.90) and missed out.

So I went back to the store to see if they'd allow me to pick up one more to receive the gift card. The good news--customer service cooperated! The bad news--I checked the bin of $4.99 seasons and all of them had new $9.99/$14.99 price tags on them.

So my advice to anyone interested in this deal is to step on it. Appears as if these were not priced correctly and stores could be correcting them. And additional advice is to take advantage of the gift card deal if you end up purchasing enough to qualify for it.

Re: Best Buy: Assorted TV seasons $4.99 each (YMMV?)

I went into the local BB store on Monday 8-10-15 and found a bunch 0f those TV series sets priced at $4.99. I took an unpriced one to the cashier for a price check and found it coming up at $9.99. I purchased:
The Bridge S1 $4.99
How I Met Your Mother S7 $4.99
How I Met Your Mother S8 $4.99

I went to the cashier to pay and she scanned them at $9.99 to $14.99 and looked bewildered as I told her the price tags on the packages were $4.99 each. A more experienced clerk came over, with the manager being summoned to adjust and override the computer. Jeez! Why is the world becoming dumber the longer I live.

Re: Best Buy: Assorted TV seasons $4.99 each (YMMV?)

Used my gift card from Galactica and got the 2 Saved by the Bell sets. Was going to get the burn notice sets too, but they were trashed in dump bin. Does anyone know, did Season five of Saved by the Bell get rereleased in the Amaray box like the others, or is it only in the original digipack? I have never seen it...

There was a restock of these at my store. Picked up New Girl S1 today. Still looking for the Bridge S1, then I'll have everything I want from the lists here.

I did notice HIMYM S7 did not have a 4.99 sticker on it, like in the previous dump. So some of these might not be available for 4.99.
