I remember I had gotten Heres Lucy s1 and s2 for $10. Still waiting on a pack of s3 and s4.

Just went to the nearest Target for Closer S7 for $10. Nowhere to be seen. Caught an associate who looked high and low for one of the four copies the store was supposed to have. "Sorry, no idea where they are." Got a raincheck.

Last year (I think) and this year they did not have a bunch of TV 2-packs for sale. They really haven't been that aggressive during pre-BF and am getting a little tired of the same titles over and over and over again (this must make the 4th or 5th straight year that WEEDS was on sale). I will pick up Gossip GIrl sets to finish off the series, but am really underwhelmed by them once again.

At the Target I went to, the display of $8-10 DVDs was in the middle of the little girls' clothing dept, NOT in electronics.

Same here. They were those big cardboard display shelves they use for the movies on BF.

Yeah they've been there for the past few years. I just went straight there.

FYI, I think there are only 2 copies of Gossip Girl S5 in the display. S6 is PM'd at Amazon, but not S5. I'm sure some others are PM'd as well, but I don't have the time to do the comparisons.

I picked S5 and S6 up of GG. There's a bunch I "could" get here and at WM, but I'm cutting back unless the deal is really killer. I have too much to watch as it is.

That raincheck is worthless. They will never restock these seasons. I believe this is available online or at Amazon or go to the little girl's dept to find the display.

Not a single set interests me (which is a good thing with all the deals this week).

Yeah, I don't understand the logic of skipping certain seasons like they did with 24, Weeds, and The Closer. If I'm interested in a series, I want to be able to watch it in order. If I can't buy season 3, I'm not going to be too eager to buy later seasons that are going to have to sit until I can get a good deal on 3. If a person is willing to buy 4, 5, and 8, they'd probably buy 6 and 7 also if they were offered.

Thanks, OP! Not thread-crapping, but if your Target doesn't have any of these, you might check out Amazon. They have price-matched some of these (for instance, NCIS 7-9, Closer 7) although some are still higher. Saves aggravation, gas, and tax (10% in my area).

Again, thanks to OP even for ones I got from Amazon. Without your post, I might not have seen these in our local newspaper ads.

I do like to patronize the brick & mortar stores like Target & Best Buy for some of the deals, especially when tax isn't a big consideration. Without their offering these deals, Amazon wouldn't be offering such competitive deals...and next year they'll be charging tax in our state, so it'll be a moot point (except for the time, gas, and aggravation if out of stock).

Closer S2 is going to be a LD this afternoon. I swore I saw a bunch of seasons of the Closer in the LD calendar yesterday, but I can't find them now. They were seasons that were on sale at Target, but were not discounted as cheap as Target.

BTW, most of these seasons (except of Gossip Girl) are available online at the same price. Red card almost covers the tax and you get free shipping (only with Red card).

Thinking about getting most of The Closer seasons for my girlfriend but will they ever be released on Blu-ray?

They tend to put various low cost items like this where casual shoppers will see them on Friday (or I guess thursday) etc.

They've been dropping and adding titles like crazy this year. I've already had a couple of titles I saw on the *very* poor excuse for a "deals calendar" and wanted to check on the price only for them to be dropped from offerings at the last minute (or day). On the flip side I went to WM for a couple of pre-BF items only to find Amazon added them at the absolutely last minute (I'd checked before leaving for WM).

I should have waited on the Gilmore sets as I paid about 18 a piece for those through WBSHOP.com a few months back and now the return policy has expired on them, so I'll just eat the loss since they're a Christmas present for a friend of mine. Next time I'll learn and wait it out.

I think the idea might be you pay less for certain seasons enticing you to pay full price for the missing seasons since you'll want to watch it all in row. The gamble is more people will do this rather than just buy the sale seasons or not buy any at all because of the gaps.

However if they don't carry the seasons that fill in the gaps, then it's just frustrating.
