Wal-Mart - left over Black Friday dvd rack/$0.86
I went to Wal-Mart today (ugh!) and they had a pretty large cardboard rack of mostly untouched $0.86 dvds marked 'Black Friday $0.86'. Most of them seemed to be the standard public domain stuff but I did pick up three and two of them were the Classic Media (Sony) versions of Dick Tracy (cartoon) and Ghostbusters (cartoon). The transfers on these were excellent.
I also picked up The Little Rascals but this was par for the course (mediocre public domain transfer). |

Are these the discs in the paper sleeves with no DVD case?

They were $0.96 in New York, no DVD case - just the disc in a blister pack:

Re: Wal-Mart - left over Black Friday dvd rack/$0.86
It's weird the split on them... most ARE PD titles except for the cartoons (as mentioned), but they also have semi-recent ones like "Descent" (the Rosario Dawson film- not the horror film of the same name... complete with Extras) & "Challenger" (1990's TV movie Starring Karen Allen as Christa McAuliffe & Barry Bostwick)...
I HATE the blister packs, though :-/ |
