I'll probably pick up "Battleship"... once it hits Big Lots for three bucks. I'm on the fence on "Once Upon A Time" S1. As it stands, I'm on hold for "Grimm" maybe in a few months the price will be more agreeable or perhaps something on Black Friday. OUAT would be blind purchase - just to have that bonus disc. I don't know.

The bonus disc for "The Pirates! Band Of Misfits" is just for kids, how to draw and animate. I think I'll pass.

Target ad for movies

@JohnIan, if you can snag one of those $10 off ABC TV coupons that are inserted into the new releases, then I think you have until the end of the year to keep your eye out on some good deals.

I do, bought "Revenge" S1. I'll keep that in mind.

Looked about on Amazon, "Once Upon A Time" has gotten five stars. Curious.

It's a good show to watch for an entire family and I'm guessing that some people give it extra credit for that, while others may not be as discerning. Imo, it has a decent premise and some episodes and segments were pulled off pretty well, but at other times I felt that the show was heavy handed and stretched credibility.

For $19.99 (after pm'ing BB and using an ABC $10 off coupon) with an exclusive DVD, I'm on the fence about it too.

If you like fairy tales and you like Disney, then I think you will be very happy with the series. I highly recommend checking it out.

Re: Target DVD prices (August 26th - September 1st, 2012)

Target's not doing a very good job at a sale price for The Walking Dead S2, when S1 came out they had it on sale for $14.99, I jumped on it at that price. I won't be jumping on $32.99 (BB has it on sale for $24.99 anyway, which is still not as good as Target did on S1). Still looking for a good sale price on NCIS S9.

Thanks John/snausages! -kd5-

Love to hear what you think of the series when you do get a chance to watch it. I admit I am a bit partial to Disney so my opinion of the show is biased.

I take it Target doesn't have a problem with price matching when they have exclusive content/disc that the other store doesn't? Good deal for Once if they will PM.

Re: Target DVD prices (August 26th - September 1st, 2012)

I just looked at the Target Weekly Ad online and it has The Lucky One DVD for $9.99. Not sure if the price in the ad is a mistake or if the one online is a mistake.

I've heard Once Upon A Time is a good show and if I can PM & use the coupon at Target, I wouldn't mind getting it.

It's a dice thing, might happen - might not.

I've PM'd at Target before when they had exclusive content. From my understanding, as long as the exclusive version is the only version they have, they'll PM it. But if it's like The Hunger Games, where they carry the regular and then a "Target Deluxe", they won't PM the exclusive deluxe.

Re: Target DVD prices (August 26th - September 1st, 2012)

I had no trouble PMing Once and also using the ABC coupon. The clerk kept looking at the DVD slipcase (which didn't look like the Best Buy image) but had no problem doing it. Also the sales tax was figured on the after coupon amount instead of the after PM amount.

I was shot down on the PMing. Clerk was all set to do it then flipped it over and saw the bonus disc attached and refused from there on. Oh well.

Re: Target DVD prices (August 26th - September 1st, 2012)

Unlike normal where mfg coupons work properly at Target, when I bought the OUAT S1 BD and used the $15 BD coupon, the system wouldn't take it without an override (hitting the F1 or whichever key it is). I noticed that Target had both the normal and Target Exclusive editions for the same price (and they had no problem doing a PM to BB), so I picked the exclusive. Did anyone else have trouble with the coupon? I'm wondering if they excluded the exclusive edition or if both editions weren't programmed properly? At least they took it (had it been BB or Walmart they probably would've told me tough luck.)

Re: Target DVD prices (August 26th - September 1st, 2012)

You were lucky TexasDVDer.

They did price matched (OUAT exclusive), but shot down the coupon saying their system only does one.

So I canceled the PM and just used the ten dollars off. Oh well.

All the discs were mint.

Re: Target DVD prices (August 26th - September 1st, 2012)

I had no problem pm'ing and using the online coupon on the exclusive of Revenge last week.

This week I went to a different Target, that was very reluctant to pm the Once Upon A Time excusive. But I eventually got them to do it. They took the online coupon without a problem.

Re: Target DVD prices (August 26th - September 1st, 2012)

I had no problem with the $10-off online coupon for Revenge last week but I had a BIG problem with the one for Once Upon a Time S1. It wouldn't scan and they said I couldn't use it. I asked for a manager and he tried and it was rejected again. He said they don't accept photocopies of coupons (guess this has been a problem for Target) and I insisted it was not a photocopy but straight from my printer (which it was). He kept saying it was a photocopy but he couldn't actually explain why he thought this... and at this point I really was not appreciating the insinuation. Anyway, after 15 minutes he finally overrode the system and gave me the $10 off. Sheeze, what an unpleasant hassle.

In my experience, it's pretty rare to have printed coupons rejected at Target, but then it's very rare that they don't scan correctly. Sometimes they have to hit F2 I think to override it. I'm amazed that a manager was willing to spend 15 minutes discussing it and finally caved in. Normally when I get a manager like that at any store who won't accept valid printouts or invents their own policies (such as a sale price = a promo and a coupon = a promo and promos can't be combined), they make their decision right away and nothing you say or do will persuade them. They won't even spend more time discussing it. In fact, I can't think of a single time in my life where a manager or supervisor relented on their original decision after further discussion. Usually I just hop in the car and drive to a different store. Fortunately such people are rare at Target (though more common at other stores).

I'm amazed your manager cannot take the time to read the coupon. At BBy these coupons NEVER scan and they eithernjust putmit in as x.x$ mfg cpn or go to the verify website to check that the coupon has not already been used (proves that it is not a photocopy) and then put it in as a mfg cpn.
