I'm thinking about picking up one or two of the $4.99s. Knew I should have waited on G.I. Joe. Picked that one up for $7 at Target a few months ago.

I'm a big John Wayne fan, but I randomly sampled some of his older B&W movies and I have to say they were all pretty slow and boring to me... I barely made it through Stagecoach which is the one people rave about. So I only stick with his color movies no matter how cheap the B&W ones are. I think there are some color movies in this set, such as McLintock, but I'm going to be apathetic about this set and do nothing. I also have to be suspicious of this McLintock transfer as there were several bad ones until Paramount finally released a proper version.

Best Buy had the 2-Disc Digital Copy Edition of G.I. Joe (along with the 2-Disc Digital Copy Edition of Star Trek) in a Paramount display box in the middle of the aisle for $4.99 each a few months ago, figured that was the time for me to snag them both. -kd5-

Definitely not a good week for me. After about 30 minutes of checking out the latest sales and searching for various titles, I ended up with a single DVD... Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief for $4.99. I had been looking for it last week and there were no copies to be found. This week there for two.

It's probably a good thing though. It appears that the next few weeks will be rough on the wallet.

Regarding Convoy (Cheezy Flicks) in BB's $4.99 bin:

It says that it's 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen. Yet, a Cheezy Flicks 30th Anniversary DVD set (with a different cover picture) on Amazon (for $10-ish) says in the user's comments that it's 1.85:1 and not 2.35:1 (it should be 2.35:1 because it was filmed in Panavision):

So, could anyone confirm if the BB $4.99 Convoy DVD is in fact 2.35:1 anamorphic, uncropped and uncut? Apparently there are 2 Cheezy Flicks versions?

Convoy is a guilty favorite of mine from long ago, and I'd finally like to own a watchable, properly letterboxed version... a DVD is better than nothing.
