$22.99 is too high for me unless Disney puts out a coupon which by all indications isn't going to happen for this title (and sadly probably for most future Ghibli releases).

Thanks John/snausages!

I'll wait for The Woman In Black to make its rounds, I don't see anything else of interest to me next week although I'll probably check out the store anyway. Looks like it might be a slow week for Target. -kd5-

The scary thing about this is that I don't think I've ever seen a Ghibli blu under $21, but then again they've only released 2 so far.

Re: Target DVD prices (May 20th - 26th, 2012)

I mention something similar to this on the Best Buy thread, but basically, I think this is an ok price for Arrietty. These never go on sale that I've seen and I've spent about $20 for each of the other Ghibli films, though I did get some through the DMC. I was hoping for a coupon since Disney promoted this so much in here in the US. Oh well, I'll buy it anyway since I have all the others...

There is a $8 coupon found as a sticker on the case if you also purchase another Studio Ghibli BD with it at the same time.

Re: Target DVD prices (May 20th - 26th, 2012)

I've lucked out with a couple of Ghibli DVDs (Mononoke & Yamadas, used at $3 per), but usually these movies don't go much below $16-18 even on sale. So I'm in at least for Arietty on DVD; maybe the Blu Ray. It's as good a price as you'll see for years.

I have all the other Ghiblis on DVD, but this might persuade me to upgrade. Do the Ghibli BDs have all the preview ads that the DVDs have?

The cheapest I've seen them was at Costco several months ago for $12.99 each, but they were all missing the slip-covers (if that interests you). For some reason the Ghibli's NEVER go on sale, even when other Disney products do. Release day prices are typically the cheapest they will be for quit some time.

Since we don't have a Target Blu-Ray thread this week, I'll do it here:

- I did not see the $8 off if you buy 2 manufacturer coupon attached to these Ghibli BD releases at Target. Has anyone seen those and at which store? At Target the $8 ($4 each) just comes off automatically meaning each has a refund value of $18.99.

- Did other people's Targets have only 4 copies of Castle and Whisper when they opened and about 12 copies of Arrietty? I went early precisely because I expected Target to have a microscopic inventory and expected them to be OOS by the afternoon.

Target also had a whopping 3 copies of The River. Stores sure are scared to death to have any extra inventory these days. I guess they'd rather disappoint customers being OOS than end up having to return a few unsold copies to their distributor. This practice just forces me to go extra early when it's less convenient for me.

I'm in for season one of Rizzoli and Isles, wish I could grab season 2 as well!
