Re: Target DVD prices (April 29th - May 5th, 2012)

Did learn some things.

There's a naughty video store near where I live.

They rent DVDs that are not available yet, some times two weeks in advance. Which is very frown upon.

"Haywire" comes with a slip cover. And "Underworld: Awakening" is near bare bones. I had expected various extras, no just a commentary. I read the trade ad, they worded it wrong. I'm disappointed; all the other films had sizable bonuses - perhaps one of the giants will have a bonus disc. Maybe.

Who says it gets frowned upon? Violating street dates is nothing new. Mom and Pop stores do it all the time. People in my neck of the woods love it when my local video store gets shit in early up to 2 weeks in advance. Before my local Blockbuster closed down a month ago, they put stuff out 1 week early too.

I haven't encountered it until that store opened.

I don't rent anymore, but when I did it was "Hollywood Video".

I think some of the Mom & Pop places do that so they can earn an extra few bucks before it hits all the major retailers. Come to think of it, a few FYE stores used to have some movies available before street date.
