Re: Big Lots Part 10 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)
Yep, it seems BL has gotten new shipments in due to spring. A lot of the stuff that's already been mentioned has been showing up in East Texas:
Superman
3 disc King Kong--Peter Jackson
Nightmare on Elm St. 3
Shrek 3
Knocked Up
Samurai Jack animation
Big Trouble in Little China
and so forth
I didn't see any Space Ghost here.

Bridgeport (Tacoma WA) got most of the $5 titles mentioned, & while picked over seemed to have gotten a better $3 batch than Pearl. No Space Ghosts, though.

Re: Big Lots Part 10 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)
I saw many new $3 titles. Of those I remember:
Buggs Bunny's Cupid Capers
Battlestar Galatica (1979 theatrical release)
Leave it to Beaver movie - new shipment - I bet 99% of this title produced has been sold at big lots
Sex and the City Movie
I haven't seen 1970s Saturday Morning Cartoons or Uptown Satutday Night, both of which I have been looking for. Most of the new titles seem to be in sizable quantities and with some of them, I expect big lots will stock them for a very long time.

I hope you're right! Never know with BLl I remember the headaches of scoring the Woody Allen boxes, but on other cool titles it's been just like you say.

Re: Big Lots Part 10 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)
Certainly, over the past 18 months or so there have been titles that I was interested in that have not shown up at any of my local big lots. They seem to have been purchased in limited quanties. However, some of the recent titles I saw yesterday seem to have been purchased in bulk and the ones I listed (except for Beaver) are the better of them. Many others that I can't recall are unlikely to move quickly and will become more space takers.

Concerned both about my wallet, & on the other hand how much of this new stuff has actually hit Washington State yet (I want to get the best mileage possible out of the 20%, it's my first one in a long time).

Re: Big Lots Part 10 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)
As many people have noted here, the number of DVDs in Big Lots stores around the country was dramatically decreased in the last few weeks. From the dozen or so stores I visited, it looked like the 80-20 rule was in effect: 80% of the inventory was returned.
A lot of the old DVD inventory was sent back....somewhere. I had confirmation from a store in North Augusta, SC nine (9) days ago. A manager and several workers told me they had boxed up and returned most of their DVDs. Each DVD was scanned and the computer told them whether to put it back on the shelf or send it back.

I got Saturday Morning Cartoons 1970's vol.2.
The one I really want is the 1980's with Mr. T and Ed Grimley. I hope Big Lots make my dreams come true and let me get it for 3 dollars.

Re: Big Lots Part 10 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)
Cherry Hill, NJ got the latest batch. No Space Ghost, and IMO it's way too late now to charge $5 for DVD versions of big, commonly available Hollywood films--I paid $5 for the Blu-ray of Thelma and Louise a few months ago. Still, it's nice to know that Big Lots isn't quite dead yet.
Note: most of these had slashed UPCs.
$5
No Country For Old Men
Speed
The Frighteners
Wayne's World/Wayne's World 2
I Am Legend (two-disc)
Twister (two-disc)
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
Hoosiers (two-disc)
Rocky (two-disc)
Mad Max
Thelma and Louise
City Slickers
Gone Baby Gone
My One and Only
Bonneville
Saw: The Final Chapter
Grandma's Boy
The Stranger (Steve Austin, not Camus)
88 Minutes
$3
The Client
Brokeback Mountain
Bakugan Battle Brawlers: Chapter 1
Before Sunset
Samurai Jack: The Premiere Movie
Roxanne
These Old Broads
IMAX: Under the Sea
Joe Versus the Volcano
True Crime
Passion Play
Meet Dave
A Perfect Day
Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls
Eden
Hero (Dustin Hoffman/Geena Davis)
Clifford's Really Big Movie
The Butterfly Effect 2

Also saw (Mercerville, NJ):
Bakugan Chapter 2
Finally picked up The Changeling.....they had it for years at $5 but in the new shipment it's $3.
Also picked up Saturday Morning Cartoons 1970s vol 2. I *LOVED* Shazzan! Saw recently that WBShop is offering the complete series MOD. I guess that guarantees it will never be in the $3 bin at Big Lots. Might have to pay full price (sigh).

Good to know, though it's been rare that I've ever visited and made any substantial purchases at multiple stores in the same day.

Hope I find this at BL. I almost picked it up at Ross for $9. Still looking for Plastic man. Is that showing up still in new shipments?

$1.88 There Will be Blood
These $1.88 titles were leftovers from Black Friday. It can be very painful and time consuming to go through all the titles (lots of old titles from previous shipments that seem to have been there forever), but you never know what you will find at Biglots.

$3
Lust For Gold [Glenn Ford]
The 7th Voyage of Sinbad [Ray Harryhausen]
$1.88
Vernon, Florida [Errol Morris]
Special Effects [Larry Cohen]
I always go through every single DVD, methodically, whenever I visit a BL store. There's really no other way to do it.
