Re: WBShop: TV sets up to 80% off! Complete series, seasons and more

Was hoping to get the Lois and Clark for my daughter for xmas. Everything else I ordered would have been nice at those prices, but I would never pay anymore for them. So no biggie with losing out on ER, Dukes, Waltons, Tales, Full house. Lois and Clark is the bummer though.

Both of my orders got cancelled. It sucks but I was expecting it so it's not a big deal.

I got Lois & Clark for $12.99. Which seems like a fair price for a show that's been off the air for nearly fifteen years at this point. That said, I looked at wbshop again and saw that they're honestly selling the damn thing for $150!!

Honestly, who the hell would pay that much? You can get most of the series through Amazon for a third of that, and that includes shipping. It staggers the mind.

I got the email that all had been cancelled except Perfect Strangers so I emailed and cancelled that one too. I realized I had that one after I ordered but didn't want to tell them to cancel and fear messing my order up. I got confirmation that it was cancelled for me this morning. May order a few things with the 25% off code.

Re: WBShop: TV sets up to 80% off! Complete series, seasons and more

Did anyone get a Waltons, ER, or Dukes of Hazzard complete series set for $12 each to ship or did they cancel 100% of them?

I was disappointed but not surprised when I got my cancellation email. Why? Because in years past I had complained how I had missed every single WBShop deal they had before, and IIRC every single one of those mistakes shipped and people were happy. So this time I actually got in an order with great prices, and it seems all of those mistakes got cancelled for everyone. I guess I alone jinxed it.

I'm still batting a perfect 0 with WBShop.com, and this latest experience with them makes me not even want to try with them. I'm on the verge of unsubscribing from their emails which I usually open but don't click on any of the links. It seems their great deals are only when they have price mistakes which I guess they don't honor like they have in years past.

I haven't got a cancellation notice yet. Though i guess it could be what I ordered? I ordered Babylon 5 and The Adventures of Brisco County Jr.

Imho those are both excellent shows, and I would have jumped on them if I hadn't already bought them earlier. Though it's worth mentioning, if you haven't seen them before, that it takes almost everyone some time before they feel that Babylon 5 becomes good (early S1 is liked by very, very few).

Good luck to you in getting them.

I had watched some Babylon 5 on tv on re-runs here and there. Don't think it airs anymore though (much like a lot of shows it seems). So when I saw it for the price they had it for I slept on it for a night and then got it and TABCJ the next afternoon.

If I could just get 1 of them I would be happy, but looks like it is a waiting game. The estimated ship date is 10/10 so just 3 days or so and I will hopefully know for sure.

It's good that you've had some exposure to it, hopefully with some of the better parts. Though one of the best aspects imo is the high degree of serialization, especially contrasting how much certain characters and situations change and evolve over the years. It's amazing that one writer personally wrote over 90 of the 110 Episodes made and I think that you can only see the true scope of what he did by watching them all.

If I could just get 1 of them I would be happy, but looks like it is a waiting game. The estimated ship date is 10/10 so just 3 days or so and I will hopefully know for sure.
I completely understand and sympathize. I got a few small orders in when Amazon and Barnes & Noble briefly were selling many graphic novel's at 85-94% off due to a glitch, and was anxious the whole time wondering what I'd receive and what they'd cancel. Again, best of luck to you.

I'd be interested in knowing what folks are buying with the 25% off coupon. I, too, received the cancellation email and the 25% off coupon. Unfortunately, the discount is off list so I'm not seeing any real deals. If you find some, please let me know.

Re: WBShop: TV sets up to 80% off! Complete series, seasons and more

I would have used it on "Night Court season 4" if they allowed it to be used on the archive program and in conjunction with the current 20% off. Otherwise, I see nothing.

You would think the first thing they would do after cancelling the orders is to remove the pending charges from the credit cards. Mine is still there.

Hmmpf! WB didn't send me a code, and I've been a good customer!

I ordered Tales from the Crypt 4, 5, and 6 anyway. I didn't find them at Big Lots in the big 2009 sale, and I've never seen them this low anywhere, so this tells me they will soon be OOP. Time to grab them while I can.

Re: WBShop: TV sets up to 80% off! Complete series, seasons and more

There are a few titles I'd be tempted to buy with the 25% off code from the cancellation (even though I'm still mad at WBShop), but it's not worth $5 shipping for just 3 titles. Since I got S1-S6 of the TFTC for $3 from BL long ago (and only watched the first 3 episodes of S1), I only need S7. I'm tempted by the Tom Selleck westerns and The Goonies BD (which I believe has the same content as the old Anniversary Edition), but my backlog of movies prevents me from paying that much with shipping.

Bigjim25's list was helpful, but unfortunately I don't have time to dig on their site for more titles to make it worth $5 shipping. Maybe if some new good titles are posted or if a free shipping code comes up and the existing prices don't increase, I might order. I think the 25% off expires 10/31. Of course (never having successfully used a coupon at WB Shop before) I don't know if you can stack a 25% off with a free shipping code if one comes out. IIRC the answer is no.

That is still a really great deal for those. I know many got them at Big Lots for $3, but I believe that shipment was unintentional. IIRC, WB had given excess stock to another company to dispose of, but they turned around and sold it off to Big Lots. I think there was legal action involved once the studio discovered the sets had suddenly turned up for $3 at Big Lots.

I bought them all for under $7 each during a WBShop sale in '09. It was a B2G1 offer that briefly stacked with a 50% sale off. I thought that was an amazing price.
