That did have an e-reader as they were part owner of Kobo. But here's why I think that product has and will fail:

Kobo won't increase market share in the U.S. as long as they call that e-reader the Kobo. E-readers need an English sounding name: iPad, Kindle, Nook etc. Kobo sounds foreign and I believe U.S. consumers would be more attracted to a product with a more English sounding name.

Has anyone hit a Borders this weekend? Judging from last time, we should be getting very close to 70-90% time on cd & dvd.

Stopped by today. Still 50% on DVD and 60% on Blu-rays. I'm assuming next Thursday is when it drops again based on the weekly Thursday emails.

Total came to $4.37. No idea why. I didn't argue.
Any updates? Books as well as DVDs?

I was at the Warner Center store and everyone gets the extra 15% off not just reward members. Comes to 66% off the list price as the 15% is off the net after the 60% deduction.

Stopped by the Pentagon City store--the DVD/Blu-Rays had pretty well been picked over. I would have bought Mannix and Love Boat season sets, except that they were $30+, even with the 50% discount. I did buy Route 66 Season 3 Volume 1 for $15, but even that was just barely in my $1/episode price limit for TV box sets. I also bought Hard Candy on Blu for $8.00 and The City of Lost Children for $6.

Last night I picked up the BBC Fawlty Towers for $5.00 at Windward Mall (Kaneohe, HI)...it was originally marked $59.99, and I've seen it online and elsewhere for around $29.99-$34.99. I'm going to try the Ward Centre (Honolulu) Borders today and see if I can pick up any stray discs I've wanted but was too cheap to buy in the past.

Store today at Penn Station in NYC had signs that said final 10 days. Not sure if this means the whole chain or not.

The local store had that too, today, (I'm in WI), but a worker (a friend of mine) told me that the liquidators put this sign up even if it's longer than 10 days to drive sales.

My local store had books (across the board) and dvds at 60% off...saw earlier someone had books at 70. The store was pretty picked over. Almost no kids books, but a lot of sci-fi/mystery/fiction still left. DVDs were hit and miss. Some popular titles still there, some not so popular still there; nothing that jumped out at me though. Still a fair number of Blus available, but it's not a huge hi-tech market around here. A lot of people still grumble about VHS being phased out and have no idea what a Blu-ray is.

Hope this helps.

That's a great price considering I loved the series so much I bought it when it was released at too high a price. Did you get the re-released set where I think they added subtitles and additional extras? I only have the original set, and they put it on 4 DVD-5s instead of 2 DVD-9s. Oh well. At this point I'll just wait for it on BD unless I could snag the re-release DVD set for $5 or so. I love them, but like much of Monty Python I've seen it so many times I don't really need to see it more. I already have loads of Fawlty Towers and MP lines rattling around in my head.

Went to one today and just nothing left there except a few Christmas titles all scattered around the store, so not worth going in there anymore. Good bye Borders, we hardly knew ye!

Are you sure? I thought the same thing at first. At 2 stores I noticed all the movie shelves and locked cases were empty. But that didn't seem right so I looked carefully and found they emptied all the usual cases and shelves and put everything in a different area. At the larger store, they moved all the movies from upstairs and put them downstairs where the magazines used to be. I think they are starting to condense the shopping area and are freeing up more shelves to sell.

First post but have rowsed forums for awhile.

Was at the Borders near me today (north of Atlanta in Marietta), and they still seemed to have a lot of movies (DVD and Blu) (as well as CDs). I kinda think it is one of the stores that stuff has been brought to from other stores because of the higher incomes in the area so stuff will go quicker, only because there still seems to be a ton of TV seasons in cases plus a few other shelves/carts of movies.

Thinking I will go back tomorrow and just browse that area since I went today for some books.

Thanks! I wish they'd had more of 'em, I could have sold or traded them here and spread the comedic goodness that is Fawlty Towers, possibly the funniest thing the BBC has v=ever broadcast.
