And make them pay for the shipping as well, since it wasn't your fault. Nice to know nothing has really changed at DD

Re: DD 25% Off Sale 6/2-6/19

So before I shell out $400 + at DD today, can anyone assure everything will go off without a hitch?

I have spent around $1200 in the past at DD and basically it has been all good, but I have not placed an order in 2 years and I have read that DD has gone down hill since I stopped buying.

I am just worried I will not get some items, or have items damaged upon shipping and get stuck in a pickle.

Re: DD 25% Off Sale 6/2-6/19

On a side note, has anyone been able to place and order with the extra code " DEALCATCHER25" to get another 25% off their order?

It worls and reflects in cart but not sure if the order will go through and be shipped, but if so, wow!

I've tried to do this on three different computers, entering Complete Star Wars, LOTR Extended and Harry Potter 1-6 BDs, as well as Solaris BD, and can't get the second code to take.

The extra 25% off does not show up in the individual prices of each item. It shows up as one lump discount total at the bottom of the page. There's a total line, your savings line, discount (which is where the extra 25% off is) and finally a grand total line. I just ordered the Star Wars Blu Ray set and the Matrix Blu Ray set for $97.

They are all listed at higher prices now. Damn, I shouldn't have waited...

Go with your gut instinct, but yes, they have gone downhill the last 2 years time and their customer service is atrocious but again, it's all up to the individual. Just an opinion.

since when did they start applying sales tax to CA shipping ? Just because their sister company DVDPlanet is located here in CA ?

DD was sold to a CA based company a few months ago and they started charging tax and shipping on orders under $15 then.

I tried too, but no luck. However, I could not find LOTR Extended no matter what I put in the search. It just comes up with the Blu Ray for the "TRILOGY." It's not the same thing, is it?

So you put the SW, the LOTR and the HP Blus in your cart along with the other titles you want, right? Then you remove the ones you don't want before checkout, but the discount stays? Am I doing it right?

Yes, but it seems the second code is dead. The same method worked for me this morning.

Yes, this deal is dead. Or to put it more accurately, the glitch has been fixed.

Crap! After having talked to an Ambien overdosed "Customer Service Rep" at DD last week who decided to use his last breaths to be as rude as he could be, I was hoping to exploit another glitch from this place. A pox on DD!

I probably should have. I saw the "deal" last night and had about 10 things in my cart but ended up only ordering Solaris Blu-ray for $15. Even though the prices were good with the extra 25%, they weren't good enough to have to deal with CS on a large order should things turn out like the last sale/glitch. And the things I wanted were only a couple of dollars less each than what I'll pay from B&N during their B2G1 free sale when combined with coupons and cash back from Discover.

It's hard to say with DD.

I used Google Checkout to pay for my order last night and it's showing as charged to my credit card. I hope that means they plan to ship it.

I missed out on the "DealCatcher" Promo from last night/early morning..........

My situation is they sent me by some fluke a few weeks back three of the 5 off of 25 coupons. All single use codes. Sweet Baby James kindly explained
to me how to get them to stack on the 25% off sale. Used one and had no problems. Went to use the second one a day later and it wouldn't let me.
So I created another account and the second coupon worked just fine like the first. Received the e-mail that they send initially after you place an order letting you know that the next e-mail they will send will be when it ships. I place the order Tuesday night and they charge my card. But earlier today (Friday) the hold/charge has just dropped off. Not sure how this is going to play out. Rep at bank said that most holds will drop off at about three days. Anyone ever create a second account their for multi-coupon purchases and had any problems? Both items were allegedly in stock on Tuesday night......so maybe they just haven't shipped yet and when they do I will then see a charge and get an e-mail.

That's how holds work. Don't worry about it. The actual charge will go on when they ship it.

Ooh. I know I'm too late, but as someone who usually uses Google Checkout, I do not recommend Google Checkout with DD. I hope all your items are in stock, because they charge you the order total regardless of whether everything's being shipped at once. I encountered this during the last DD sale. Fortunately my Long Weekend was restocked & shipped out only 2 weeks later, but still, I don't like being charged for items until they ship. For some reason, DD & GC just don't work well together.

Re: DD 25% Off Sale 6/2-6/19

I've spent a couple of hours at least digging through items on this sale trying to find something, anything that I want that is a compelling deal--and came up empty. This will be the second "BIG DD SEMI ANNUAL SALE" in a row that I've sat out. Too bad.

Re: DD 25% Off Sale 6/2-6/19

First (and last?) Order

HOUDINI/ THOSE DARING YOUNG MEN...(Blu-ray) $8.62
MANDINGO (Blu-ray) $7.66
WOMEN IN PRISON TRIPLE FEATURE $15.90

Total: $32.18

Never got a shipping notice, but got everything in this week (Amazon isn't shipping the WIP set until July, so it was nice to get that early- and at a much better price- over $12 less!)

A far cry from a couple years back when I would drop ten to twenty times that amount.

I'm thinking about getting off another small order, but can't seem to find the motivation.
