Re: Ultimate Electronics Store-wide closing

I went last night, and my store was still at 60% off on DVD's and BD's. I may bite on some at 70%, but I am sticking to my guns.

DVDs and BDs were down to 70% in Salem, NH today. Four days away from closing.

Re: Ultimate Electronics Store-wide closing

My store went down to 70% today as well. Unfortunately I couldn't get there until 6:30pm, and the selection was less than half what it was yesterday. Still, I bought 9 titles. The funny thing is, 4 of the titles rang up $10+ LESS than what they were labeled. These prices are BEFORE the 70% discount:
Universal Solder: Regeneration BD labeled $24.95, rang up $13.95
Untitled BD labeled $22.95, rang up $9.95 (that is actually the title)
Pink Panther 2 BD labeled $29.95, rang up $17.95
Life S2 DVD labeled $44.95, rang up $34.95

I was especially pleased to get Life S2 for cheap, since I got S1 last week @ Borders at 80% off
At 70% off, I got some steals! Most were not mainstream titles, which is probably why they lasted (plus the mislabeled titles helped, too). The cashier was muttering to himself on a few of the ridiculous prices, probably because he wanted them for himself. MANY copies of Twilight: Eclipse on the shelf still.

Re: Ultimate Electronics Store-wide closing

The Albany, NY store was up to 70% off for DVDs and BDs. Not many BDs left, and nothing I wanted anyways - LOTS of the copies of the recent ROBIN HOOD blu-ray movie starring Russell Crowe.

The signs all said 5 days left but the cashier said their last day is Sunday..so I'm not sure which to believe but I doubt I'd bother returning.

Re: Ultimate Electronics Store-wide closing

My UE store is history now. I knew they were closing yesterday (and they said it would probably be early), but I had to go to work before UE opened at 10 AM, and when I was "released" from work and drove by UE around 7:30 PM it was all dark and all of the signs gone except the closed one.

I guess I'll never know what the percentages off were on BDs on their final day and hours or if there were even any BDs left I would've wanted. Looks like my store closed a little earlier than most people's.

Re: Ultimate Electronics Store-wide closing

For the curious, I stopped in at the closest Ultimate Electronics today at all media was 90% off. The selection was down to mostly used titles and a dozen or so copies of various Bleach episodes by the time I got there today, but I did snag the sole remaining game in the store.

There are still two locations in town that will be closing on the 12th, so I may make one more stop tomorrow. (The corporate HQ is in town, which may explain why it's not quite closed yet.)

Re: Ultimate Electronics Store-wide closing

I never went back to my store. The last day was Sunday. I got pretty much everything I wanted at 70% off, so I didn't bother going back. They had some 3D glasses left, which would have been a great deal for anyone with a compatible TV (they were Sharp brand). Tis sad they are gone. Best Buy (across the street) must be thrilled...
