scratch my last post apparently they are pulling a "Target" and taking orders but then canceling them. I got my cancellation notice about 9 minutes after my confirmation email, so in that regard they are actually better then Target.

I have not ordered from Hastings, and have currently spent over budget on this round of deals...though I would love to have this - at this point I would have it just to have it, and don't have any clue when I would actually get around to watching it with my haul from this year....and even from leftovers from last years BF.

I have heard many mixed reviews regarding Hastings, and if this deal does go through...a big congrats!

Can anyone confirm what this set is supposed to look like inside? With pics? I bought this set off Ebay last summer for 90 bucks thinking it was a steal. However when I opened it up, it came with three blocks of green disc holders with each block held together by a lousy strip of packaging tape.

Felt very cheap. Although I did a side by side video comparison with my official Star Trek TNG S7 boxset and couldn't really see a difference in the video quality.

I just LOVE this Gohastings place. People have said they are a B&M store in some parts of the country. Yesterday I had placed a ST:TNG order while it was in stock and just decided to check my order status which says canceled. They didn't even send an email about that!

However, as people said they are reordering, I tried again. I even used that promo code which is supposed to take $5 off, it said it was applied but the order total didn't change, I placed the order hoping it would adjust, and it remained without the $5 off. Did anyone get the $5 off coupon to work and if so what are the secret conditions attached (like you can't checkout as guest)?

Probably doesn't matter because I expect them to cancel again. With them canceling my orders 3 out of 3 times I've ordered from them over the past year, why should I expect order #4 to be any different? All I know is (or as someone I know says "alls I know is") if Gohastings cancels this 4th order, then I'll probably avoid them forever more even if someday they are selling every Blu-Ray ever made for $1 because I'll know they'll just cancel... much like I know DeepDiscount will never ship anything I order (at least not if it's at a good price).

They canceled mine too, no email notification. I've only ordered through them once before, several months ago, pre-ordered Modnation Racers. That order went smoothly, no problems, good price and brand new game.

I've seen the asian bootleg of this, the only way to tell is to media id a disk, and see if the disk is region coded or not-

From past threads I thought people said Gohastings was a "reputable" dealer (though cancel-happy IMHO) and they had B&M stores in some states. If so, why would they ship people new bootleg copies? Wouldn't that be not only unethical but illegal? If Gohastings did this, couldn't you report Gohastings to Paramount's legal team as well as dispute the charge with your credit card company that a US B&M dealer is selling bootleg merchandise? Just curious. I've never had to worry about getting bootleg stuff before because I thought I was dealing with non-shady companies.

my thoughts exactly. I NEVER have had ANY problems with legitimacy of DVDs from any of what I would have called "reputable" online dealers. I am surprised as others about this whole topic.
