Went yesterday to the Bolingbrook store. Nothing new at all. I picked up some stuff and the cashier gave me two coupons for today's event.
I doubt that I'll go today. The selection of DVDs just isn't that good now. |

You may want to know the TMG version of "The Buccaneers" is 30 episodes which is 9 short of the entire series. Mill Creek has a full series set of all 39 episodes. You can usually pick this one up fairly inexpensively from amazon mp vendors. I don't know how the quality compares, but the MC set looks good for that vintage of PD TV.
went today and only new thing I saw: Dragon Ball Z: Fusion Reborn / Wrath of the Dragon steelbook. $3 |

Picked up some anime today in portsmouth:
I just found Solty Rei (vols. 2&3) today, having only found vols 1&5 a few years back. If anyone spots the other volumes (4&6), please post. Also grabbed Afro Samurai Resurrection 2-Disc SEDC today too, and they also had some newer volumes of other anime. It appears the small anime assortment was the only new stock this week. |

Echo,
Anytime and my pleasure and glad you made it back to LA safe and sound. Maybe you might have better luck out there in finidng some stuff as yes, this Niles, IL location is drying up pretty fast and the Diversey Avenue in Chicago and Wood Dale locales aren't any better. Let's hope it picks up quickly but if not, no big deal then. Hoping you're enjoying the nice weather in La-La land. Stopped in at Culver City, CA Big Lots last night and didn't find much. Very minimal stock on the Timeless and Legend titles that have been reported, all placed on the bottom shelf of a rack that is housing the same old mold from when I last visited there on Thanksgiving. Tons of that $6 Nickelodeon crap that even dung flies won't sniff. I picked up the Legend/Paramount titles THE OPTIMISTS and THE PIED PIPER, but they were blind buys and I might return if reviews aren't so hot. Anybody on here seen either one? As for the Timeless vs. Mill Creek versions of THE BUCCANEERS and others, I have the Mill Creek sets and they are very good for p.d. material. A much better buy than the Timeless ones since they are complete and usually cheaper. |
Re: Big Lots Part 9 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)
Still nothing new at my local BigLots. They have this $2.40 sale going, with 2 floor-standing displays (out of 5 or 6 that they usually have) and nothing in them but old/moldy stuff. What are they waiting for??? -kd5-

Re: Big Lots Part 9 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

Thanks for all the well wishes, RMW! Speaking of weather, I was in Chicago on February 1st for the history making blizzard and then back here for the extremely rare snowfall here in L.A./Burbank a week ago! Two historic storms in one month!

Just stopped into that Niles, IL one today for the 20% off coupon sale and here is what they recently stocked up on TV-wise...Mind of Menica S2 & S3, Girlfriends S1, Lipstick Jungle S1, 90210 S3, Cannon S1 V2 and same with Untouchables, Twin Peaks S2 (seems they can't give that damn thing away) and a few others which are only located near the register where the TVs are being dispalyed, but other then that, same old junk. You guys got snow in LA/Burbank?! WOW! Keep me posted if you find anything good in that area. |

Re: Big Lots Part 9 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)
No Ren & Stimpy to be found at my BL either. It would've been nice with the 20% off coupon today. In fact, there were absolutely no movies I wanted and just bought a few household items. I almost bought Boogeyman 2 or 3 which I've never seen, but figured I'd wait.

Brown Bunny??!! Wow
|
Re: Big Lots Part 9 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)
Rustler's Rhapsody is worth it for $3, very good satire on westerns.
I picked up The One and Only Lasst of the Red Hot Lovers TV's Funhouse Brilliant but cancelled Crime w/ Delvecchio, Gideon Oliver, Johnny Staccato, Touching Evil - I'm guessing the pilot eps of each series. Also grabbed Loonatics Unleashed the somewhat awful Loony Tunes characters as superheros. Total was $15 |
