Re: Big Lots Part 9 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)
Other than the random "Boogie Nights" find last week, nothing of signficance new in the Albany NY area. Haven't been to Clifton Park lately, but I'd probably be overstating things if I said I'd seen a dozen new titles in the other three stores in the past month or so.
Same old, same old. |
Re: Big Lots Part 9 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)
The Amsterdam, NY store still has the same old stuff it's had for months. They have some $6/10 TV sets, and 2 cardboard displays and the 4-sided wire rack full of miscellaneous titles (mostly $5 and $3 stuff). Nothing new, and my source at that store has alerted me that there will be no restock until this stuff is gone.
That said, I'm kinda glad they haven't had much of anything new since I already have a very large backlog of unwatched DVDs and no capital to actually buy anything new right now. |
Re: Big Lots Part 9 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

What are some of the titles in this latest $5 batch? Thanks in advance for any and all info. Always much appreciated. |
Re: Big Lots Part 9 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)
I only actually saw the batch at Pearl Tacoma, I was told about the Kent batch. As i posted above, the only title that stuck with me was the Woody Woodpecker V.2 box. IMO, the rest weren't worth $5, & I apologize but I don't really remember the other titles; I only tend to remember stuff of interest to me (which means either stuff I like or stuff I consider a good value even if it isn't my cup of tea).

No problem........some of the batches tend to be pretty lame where nothing really stands out. |

Pearl Street (Tacoma WA) got a small $5 multi label (Universal, Warner, & Paramount) batch. While it was somewhat picked through (it had been out all day when I got there) the Woody Woodpecker V.2 box was the only title I saw I considered a bargain at $5.

The NoHo store on Vineland finally got some new stock and it looks like it's this batch. They're not with the regular DVD section near the registers, they're on a shelf a few rows back. Nothing stood out too much because it was stuff I already had, but what I remember seeing:

Re: Big Lots Part 9 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)
I went to a different BL yesterday and saw nothing new. I'm sure hoping for a new batch of stuff soon because it's been pretty dead for the last 2 months, and I'm hoping that after reading a previous post that BL blew their fiscal budget last year and stopped buying for a while that some new stuff is in the "pipeline" waiting to appear soon.

Re: Big Lots Part 9 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)
Really hard to figure BL out at times...went to 2 stores south of Atlanta, in Union City, and Riverdale Tuesday. Looked all the world like they had actually returned a bunch of DVDs, just tons of space. Usually, as many know here, they get shipments on Tuesday. So perhaps they were just making room, but one flat table was 3/4's empty at the Union City store. Just looked lame...
Head to the store closest to me in Fayetteville later that evening, expecting nothing...well, they had quite a few new (or haven't seen in awhile) titles! Paramount/legend stuff like... Framed(Joe Don Baker) The Pied Piper (Donovan) Phantom Planet(B&W and color on same disc) Desperate Characters (Shirley MacLaine) The Optimists (Peter Sellers) Wish it wasn't such a hike to check back at those other stores to see if they restocked too, or if they have the same 100 lame discs... |
Re: Big Lots Part 9 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)
I went to my local BL yesterday after a month of not. Well they selection of TV on DVD titles has basically dried up. And the selection of the other DVDs seems to be the same. Nothing new so I just bought a few DVDs that I held off on buying before and some Valentine's candy that was 50% off.

Re: Big Lots Part 9 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)
Went to BL today (the day after they get the truck in) looking for Woody Woodpecker or some of those Paramount titles we haven't got yet:
NOTHING NEW IN OVER A MONTH. I can't remember the last time NOTHING has come in for a month. |
Re: Big Lots Part 9 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)
FWIW there is a pre-President's Day ad out for BL showing:
http://www.biglots.com/images/small/...dollar-dvd.jpg Assorted DVD Movies $3 Each "It's time to pop the popcorn and dim the lights because there is nothing like a great movie night! Choose from popular titles including, Disturbia, La Bamba, In & Out and many more! Titles vary by store. Hurry in for best selection!" They are not here... yet... but maybe there's hope for *something* new. |

Re: Big Lots Part 9 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)
Idaho Falls, ID Big Lots finally received a shipment of some new titles but it looked like there were multiple (5+) copies of lots of this stuff so it is probably going to sit around for a while.
I picked up: The Last of the Red Hot Lovers Besieged (Bertuloccci) Ashes of Time Redux (Wong Kar Wai - this one was probably there before) Tokyo Godfathers I saw lots of stuff that has been there before and that Nick $6 stuff just isn't moving at all. |

Re: Big Lots Part 9 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)
Went to the Griffin, GA store...Thursday?(man, my memory..something, something) had a few TV shows, but of the $10 variety. Jake and the Fatman S1, V2, Soul Food, Final Season, and J.A.G. S4(very surprised to see that) I wonder if they found a few in a box in back or something? Perhaps the warehouses find a few that trickled in late...

Re: Big Lots Part 9 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)
The Newark, Ohio BL had a batch of Timeless Media Group single disc releases of western TV series and TV-movies.
All were $5 each... EVIL ROY SLADE (John Astin) THE BROTHERS O'TOOLE (John Astin) THE BRAVOS (George Peppard) CRY BLOOD APACHE (Joel McCrea) THE GATLING GUN (Robert Fuller) INVASION OF JOHNSON COUNTY (Bill Bixby) THE JACKALS (Vincent Price) THE SAN FRANCISCO STORY (Joel McCrea) SITTING BULL (Dale Robertson) WINCHESTER 73 (TV remake w/ Tom Tryon) YUMA (Clint Walker) Plus, there were single disc sets of episodes of BRANDED, GUNS OF WILL SONNETT and RIVERBOAT. There looked to be only one copy of each title. |
Re: Big Lots Part 9 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)
Evil Roy Slade is a good film and the Brothers O'Toole was OK but you'll like the first movie of John Astin.
