- The Night of the Hunter
- Paths of Glory
- The Magician
- Black Orpheus
- Breathless
- Charade
- House - on the fence
- Crumb - on the fence
- The Thin Red Line
- Darjeeling Limited
- A Christmas Tale (hopefully they have this one in stock this time around)

Re: November Criterion Sale
Definite buys
Charade
A Christmas Tale
Night of the Hunter
The Magician
House
M
Chronos (if sale stretches that long)
Maybe/strongly considering
Black Orpheus
The Thin Red Line
Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence
Darjeeling Limited
Paths of glory
Antichrist
I always end up buying more than I anticipate to for some reason.

Re: November Criterion Sale
I see a lot of interest for Darjeeling Limited. I liked that film, but I'm not sure if it will be worth upgrading to a Criterion release.
My short list is:
Charade
The Thin Red Line
Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence
Paths of glory
Possible:
Darjeeling Limited
Woman Under the Influence
Wild Strawberries
Virgin Spring
Under the Volcano
This Sporting Life
Solaris
Seventh Seal
If released on blu-ray
The Ice Storm

Re: November Criterion Sale
Damn....November is gonna be expensive.
I plan to focus on the rest of the remaining DVD & Blu-Ray box sets I don't have. Then, I'll move on the focusing on Blu-Rays and early release DVDs.
If I can keep this under $350, I'll be happy.

Re: November Criterion Sale
While the suggestive titles are interesting, I would like to see verification that B & N will have a November sale and, further, the details, sush as pricing and coupon usage. At the current Mystery sale the on-line offer is a 50% discount, but in store it's 40%.

Re: November Criterion Sale
I don't think you are going to get that verification from B&N.
This forum thread is all about idle speculation about a "probable" sale at Barnes and Noble based solely on past history of Barnes and Nobles sales.
I do agree with you that I hope that Barnes and Noble clarifies its coupon usage policies before the next sale.

Re: November Criterion Sale
Most likely we won't know anything until the sale starts about the coupons. I would at least expect them to have the same policies as the last sale. Probably no coupons will be allowed again online. The big question is will B&N extend the coupon restriction at stores this time.

Re: November Criterion Sale
Either way, I see them as a good deal; my frustration with the recent sale was that the price in store was cheaper than online for B&N members. The changes in member policies have me seriously considering whether or not I want to renew my membership.
I just looked at the the titles that I'd like to get and the list is already way too long. It's good to hear that the whispers are already starting about another sale though.

Re: November Criterion Sale
Edit: It seems backordered on Barnes & Noble online and Amazon does not have any new copies for sale but Harakiri is still up for sale on the Criterion Collection website. Google searching I can't find any reference to it being OOP.

Re: November Criterion Sale
I was compiling my wish list price guide, and when I hit that one, it showed up as unavailable for regular order and the marketplace prices sure seemed to reflect that of an OOP Criterion.
A quick check of my usual online retail joints shows that it's "unavailable" or "backordered.". Which only bolsters my concern.
