Fry's here in Austin had a big table to Buy 1 Get 1 Free Anime in the aisle between Media and Games yesterday. Nothing I needed, but there were complete series boxsets in there as well as individual releases. I clearly remember seeing Azumaga Daioh in there.

On a related note... is our Fry's the only one that has done away with the "New Releases" section? The last few months it has been moving around (from the middle of the DVD section to the beginning of the Blu section) and I think they finally decided "screw it". It makes it really frustrating to find new titles. With all their endcaps and crap around it took me 5 minutes to figure out that Kick Ass was COMPLETELY out of stock.

Maybe it's just because they're the only show in town besides Best Buy or because we have 1 location but I can NEVER find a new release on Fry's if it isn't the morning of release. It becomes more and more difficult to shop for media there.

Yup, I found that to be the case as well. They seem to be slacking more and more in putting out their stuff too. I always have to go look in the baskets between the BD/DVD section and the cafe area. I've noticed the past few weeks they seem to have baskets full of newer stuff they're still putting up on the shelves. The new release section is gone though. It's a big hunting game now.
