Saw a batch of DVDs (Last Days, 50 Dead Men Walking, Dirty War, Joe Louis, Jim Brown All-American, Deadly Justice aka The Rape of Richard Beck) at the Mount Laurel, NJ store, along with the Mill Creek Blu-rays.

Another Stakeout (Dreyfuss, Estevez, Rosie O'Donnell)
and I saw several others.

They were just unpacking and shelving several boxes, including regular DVD's as well. Among those I noticed Deadlock (about the 2000 election fight), Falling Angels (which I noticed in the photos earler in this string) and a Royal Wedding documentary. I didnt have time to root through all the other DVD's (some still in their packing box; many of them seemed to be obscure ones), but I suspect I will go back tomorrow morning to see if there are any other BRs I want or any DVD's. Blue Rays for a buck! take that, Big Lots!!

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs

Can anyone who's bought "The War At Home" check and see if the sound is 5.1 or 2-channel? It says 2-channel on the cover, but they've been wrong about that before. (Most of the ones that say 2.0 Dolby Digital are actually 2.0 DTS HD Master Audio, which is OK since the movies in question were never in 5.1 to begin with.) I have the non-anamorphic DVD which is 5.1, I'd like to get a copy with a better picture but not sure if I want to take a step backwards with the sound.

Left that on the shelf but picked up all the others save the other known flawed ones, and a bunch of regular DVDs too which were a surprise.

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs

Found a review of War at Home saying it's DTS Master Audio 2-channel. Guess I won't bother with this one even for a buck and just stick with the DVD; there's always a chance they could fix this if it get issued in a multi-film set or something else later, like some of the Echo Bridge titles have. Even the laserdisc of this had a 5.1 track.

no, that is not the Mist he's listing. I believe it's this one (at least that's what I saw)
http://www.amazon.com/Mist-Sheepdog-...mist++sheepdog

Anyway, I saw most of the titles in that post. The manager at one BL went in the back and let me open 3 boxes . The best title I found was Recount (which has the best commentary of any DVD I've ever heard). Well worth a buck. The only other title that seemed pretty good (and is not listed) is K Street the Complete series. Seems to be a bunch of HBO titles that did not sell well.

Some of those titles are PV. I believe My Date With Drew is PV (it is the Blockbuster exclusive edition)

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs

The Dollar tree at Boyertown,Pa. had the above mentioned DVD's and Blue Rays for a dollar. I have been going into this newly opened branch for about 3 months with nada. However I was presently surprised to see these on Saturday evening(11-3). The store manager said that she finally put them out after receiving them a few weeks ago. I purchased about 35 different titles including regular DVDs and blue rays.

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs

Much thanks to those posting the lists of titles, I've wanted I Really Hate My Job for a cheap price for quite awhile and so went to the store in SoCal in Torrance, right off the 110 (on Sepulveda). I found what I was looking for and also picked up The Whole Shebang and Recount (last copy). I was surprised to see the lowest price for Recount on Amazon is $14.95, so I definitely feel like I got a bargain with that one. Still dozens of DVDs there, along with even more Blu's.

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs

I was there apparently minutes after the stock clerk put out the dvds at the first of last week, went back today and all but a few dvds are gone except for the unending DOG WHISPERER sets, interestingly I'd say at least 60-70 percent of the blu-rays are still there, underlining just how few people there are who have blu-ray players despite the industry hard sell.

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs

I have looked over many of the Dollar Tree lists of both DVD's and Blu-Rays, but I have yet to see what I was able to pick up as part of this batch. Has anyone else been able to snag a copy of the Clooney/Pitt version of "Ocean's Eleven"?
