Hopefully this isn't common knowlege so I won't look like an asshole for making this thread. The last 2 times I have gotten the RZ 10% off movies, video games, etc coupons in the mail they have worked on stuff that was on-sale. Both times I also had one item that wasn't on sale so I don't know if that had anything to do with it, but like today I bought a PS3 controller and 2DVD's that were on sale and the coupon took the 10% off for all 3 items.
Again sorry if this is already known, but I know that in the past the coupon didn't work with stuff on sale so I wanted to make sure everyone knew it did now.

I think his point was that the computer system was allowing them. Earlier this year, the computer would reject the coupon automatically for all sale items, making it nearly impossible to get a manager override. So I appreciate your post, OP. I wish I had known this yesterday before a few sales ended. I would have tried it for sure...

For some reason, I never get these in the mail. Do you have to set your account setting to get them?

I have not gotten these coupons sent to my home in quite some time. Must be that I didn't use them so they are saving money by not sending them to me...

These are always going to be YMMV. They are almost always to not be applicable with any other offer or sale pricing, so it just depends on the cashier/manager.

I've had cashiers refuse them adamantly, had managers read the fine print thoroughly and still take them, and all other possibilities. To be honest, I rarely find anything worth using them on and just leave them laying around my local store.

I used these Saturday one for a blu-ray player and one for a blu-ray movie, both were on sale but it took the 10% off the movie but only took $5 off the player,the player cost $229 on sale,I questioned a manager about why it took the 10% off the movie but only $5 off the player and he said it shouldn't have taken anything off either one since they were on sale.

IMHO this is worth a new thread if their computer system is in fact allowing the 10% off coupons on sale items. Over the years I've been denied 100% of the time so many times that I have completely given up even wasting my time trying a 10% off coupon on a sale item, and the truth is that Best Buy's prices are too high for me except on (a few) sale items, which means though I receive 10% off coupons in the mail all the time, I can't remember how many years it has been since I've used one. They always go into the trash. The cashiers (in the past) usually had no problem scanning the 10% off coupons, but they system never allowed it.

Unfortunately there's nothing I want badly enough to drive 10 miles on my day off even with a 10% off coupon. Had the coupon been good when I go to work tomorrow, I might have tried getting Big on BD, but no big deal... it'll be cheaper someday somewhere without the need to rely on a sale and a 10% off coupon. Besides Best Buy is probably out of stock. Last time I looked mine didn't even have Big on BD. Needless to say I hardly ever buy anything at Best Buy. Since Circuit City went away, deals have been scarce there.

Does how the cashier scans the coupon have anything to do with getting this to work?

I bought a new Digital Camera with a case and Memory Card today. Used the 10% off Digital Camera/Memory Card coupon that I got via Email and the only thing that came off was the item not on sale (the case).

I was able to get the 10% off music/movies/games coupon to work on a sale item as well. They had the Black Lagoon Complete Series boxed set on sale for $26.99, and it worked! I've been waiting a while to get a deal on this anime series, so I was thrilled to get it for less than $25 after coupon!

The last time I used this at the Downingtown, PA store they more militant about it. For that reason, I decided not to even bother going this past weekend.

I dunno, but the cashier scanned mine after ringing up all my items. So when you go, make sure to wait to give them the coupon until the cashier gives you your total to be safe.

That's what I did. She rang everything up then the last thing she did was scan the coupon. I believe the screen asked her if she wanted to apply it to all items, and she hit yes.

Oh well, I needed a new Camera anyway. Saved a whopping $1 on the case though

Too bad you can't use that coupon at the website, the local BestBuy doesn't stock the DVDs I want but they're available at the website. 10% off the sale price at the website wouldn't be too bad. BestBuy's regular prices are so godawfully high that 10% off their regular price is a JOKE. -kd5-
