Blockbuster PV DVD Sale For The July 4th Holiday

Same sale as before 3/20 for 14.99 or less & 5/20 for 9.99 or less on PV DVD. Started today and ends 7/5. Good grief, this is their typical sale for every holiday. I thought you've been through this so many times that I didn't have to spell it out in 1,000 words or less.

My local Blockbuster (Pflugerville, TX) has:

- $4.00 off any PV DVD priced $7.99 or above
- $2.00 off any PV DVD priced $3.99 or $5.99

The only prices I've seen at the only BB we have around is $14.99, $9.99, and $3.99.

yes, but $2 off a $3.99 = $1.99.. That's the cheapest I have ever seen at BBV.

Re: Blockbuster PV DVD Sale For The July 4th Holiday

The BBV I stopped in last night had the 5 for 20, 3 for 20 deal but they didn't have the $2/$4 off deals. I did find Touching the Void with a 1.99 sticker so I grabbed that.

Lost all 3 local BB's so the sale is not worth me traveling any distance.

Re: Blockbuster PV DVD Sale For The July 4th Holiday

Nothing decent at the Lehigh Valley,Pa. area locations. The recent Hollywood Video GOB sales leaves these piles of recent crud looking like...piles of recent crud. However, about two weeks ago,I found the 2 disc Peckinpah "Wild Bunch" for $3.99,so always check the corners and stay away from the multiple copies of whatever is on the table. The extra documentaries in "The Wild Bunch" were amazing. Cashier tried small talk by asking if I liked westerns. I replied not really, but this one blows your standard shoot 'em up out of the water and at $2/disc,a steal. This must look tame to today's bloodfest,so it's no wonder the kiddies don't rent this and Blockbuster says goodbye to another classic.but that's only part of the point in "The Wild Bunch". It's who got there and how they got there, leading up to the moment and why the moment burst when it did that is so important to this film.

Re: Blockbuster PV DVD Sale For The July 4th Holiday

I picked up a 3 for $20 trio--Fantastic Mr. Fox, Sherlock Holmes, and Night at Museum 2. Unfortunately, all stripped down rental versions. I figure as long as BB is around, I should try to support them--even just a little.

This sale is still going on, at least at the store where I stopped by Wed.

The sale didn't end July 5th, it has been extended to August 2.

Re: Blockbuster PV DVD Sale For The July 4th Holiday

Does anyone know about how long it takes for $14.99s to drop down to $9.99? I'm specifically wondering about Brothers, Precious, The Messenger and a few others. Probably not until after August 2nd if that's when the sale ends (but I'd rather get them for 4 for $20 than 3 for $20 anyways).
