I'll let you know when mine arrives. I received 17 other titles I ordered yesterday. Most were under $5, a few were 7.xx.

2 titles backordered, 1 that should ship soon, and a WB Archive title still to come.

Not that great a sale (did they raise prices before the sale started, because their prices including the 25% off weren't that much lower than other retailers), but I ordered a few DVDs that had been on my wish list for some time.

Re: deepdiscount.com 25% off sale June 4th - June 20th

Well, I had no intention of buying any Criterions during this sale, but I'm worried that some of the newly OOP titles won't be around by the time the Barnes and Noble sale starts:

Bob le Flambeur [Criterion Collection] - $18.33
Billy Liar [Criterion Collection] - $24.47
A Woman Is a Woman [Special Edition] [Criterion Collection] - $18.35
Man Who Fell to Earth [Blu-ray] [Criterion Collection] - $24.45
TOTAL: $85.60

i'm just worried that the criterions won't come back in stock, since all the newly announced OOP titles are OOS right now. Placed an order for That Obscure Object of Desire, so we'll see what happens.

Fallen Angels [Blu-ray] $13.75
Revanche [Criterion Collection] [Blu-ray] $23.17
Total: $36.92

Where do you see whether your item is on back order or not? My status has just said "open" for three days. I guess that's it?

Went ahead and took a chance on Trick 'r Treat BD for $7.32, figured it was worth the blind-buy at that price.

Re: deepdiscount.com 25% off sale June 4th - June 20th

Well, I canceled one of the backordered items. I spent too much anyway, and it's only $1.70 savings over Amazon. We'll see what kind of response I get to this.

I ordered "The Operative" (Item #: STU007715), but it came up backordered after the order when through. I want to cancel it. I'm not big on waiting. I noticed there is an option to cancel items through the Order History page now, but only in-stock items are listed when you try to cancel something. What kind of silly crap is that!? Whoever did your new site design ought to be fired.

Reading through this thread and others (including where you bitched about Blue Underground BD prices), it's very clear that you need to relax.

Are Ultraman, Iron King, and Super Robot Red Baron worth it for $6.88? I've heard good things about Ultraman and am thinking of picking up all three.

YMMV on Ultraman, but I snagged it ( "Volume 1" I think it was ) at Target about a month ago for 5 bucks.

Yes they are, cheapest I've ever seen them, even cheaper than the Canadian prices. (usually cheaper here in Canada due to the show being Canadian)

I had to place another order due to this, so I picked up Nikita S2-5, some Stallone movies, the Wallace and Gromit Complete blu set, and finally bit on Dragonball Z Kai blu ray S1.

This month is going to be expensive, lol

Re: deepdiscount.com 25% off sale June 4th - June 20th

Actually... I scored LFN seasons 2-5 at Best Buy for $15 each. When I saw the shelf sale tag, I about fell over myself and quickly grabbed the sets. Also got Birds of Prey for $15 too.

Gonna grab Burn Notice S3 for $22 though ... and just ordered S1 & S2 from BB for $20 each too since that seems to be a really low price for what is always overpriced IMO (most of the cable series with half seasons are usually more expensive then normal tv shows of normal ~22 episode seasons!)

Maybe Burn Notice will be cheaper at some point or has been and I missed but I think that's good enough.

La Femme Nikita for $19 is definitely a good buy too... another perennially overpriced show.

Both complete seasons of Ultraman for $6.88 is awesome! The only problem with the release is the lack of complete audio masters for the English dub, so sometimes it'll switch to a few lines in Japanese. Disconcerting if you're watching it in English to recapture those childhood memories of watching it on the local UHF station. But if you're watching it in Japanese you won't notice, probably. Still a great show even with the imperfections.

Thanks, I've always been a compulsive list maker, so at least I can share this one with people.

Iirc, those places where it switches to Japanese are not missing English narration, but are actually extra material originally shown in Japan but never part of the American edits, so no dub was ever made.

Re: deepdiscount.com 25% off sale June 4th - June 20th

Hey folks, this technically isn't a DVD "deal", but it is certainly a DD deal for DVD collectors...

Not only do they have 25% off on their prices on DVDs, but they also have 25% off many of their media storage items too. This includes all of the Leslie Dame storage units thay have too, which makes them as cheap as you'll find any place on the web. And as a big collector of DVDs, I've found over the years they are about the best bang for the buck you can get for storing your DVDs.

Not only that but those who might have gotten burned since 2008 when Leslie Dame had their factory fire and orders from the November 2008 sale onward had been put on hold, they just recently a month ago or so shipped me all of my back orders, so they should be shipping them quickly now too. They don't sell the black CD-1000 any more, which I'd bought on a number of occasions, but they have black CD-500's and other CD-500's in oak and cherry and CD-1000's in oak.

I posted the links in a thread in the "Hot Deals" forum, so any followup replies should be posted there.
