Just wondering on the WM 26 DVD set (not BD)...is that the two-disc or three disc collectors edition that will be on sale?

There's nothing good there, with the sole exception of the Van Helsing blu-ray. Wish that were $6.99. :p

My guess is the DVD $17.99 is the 2-disc set.

I wonder if Amazon will lower their price (22.99) before the preorders ship on Monday.

It looks like the type of film that interests me. I've seen bits and pieces of it, and so far I'm pretty impressed.

Yeah, that is a GREAT price on BluRay. Although I don't have a BluRay player, nor do I own any BlueRay discs (yet), I may pick it up just for the hell of it at $6.99. I wonder if the standard DVD will also be on sale.

If Army of Darkness was 9.99 I would definitely buy it. I don't think I will at 14.99.

^Funny, I've never seen it but I'm about to pick it up for $8 from some guy on Craigslist, along with a few other BDs.

Edit: also, if you print out one of the Universal Studios $5 off any Blu-ray coupons from Facebook, you can get it (YMMV) for $9.99.

Re: Best Buy Media Prices (May 2 - 8, 2010)

I tried using the Universal coupon at 3 BBs in my area and all rejected me due to the "any regular price" section of the coupon. The coupons are worthless if I have to use them on regular priced items; I can do better online.

That deal comes to $37.98 for the Iron Man and X-Men animated releases, which is $2 cheaper than Amazon. Just have to wait and see if Target can beat it.

Best Buy.com still wants $34.99 for the 1994-95 Fantastic Four animated series (Amazon $38.49). That series aired at the same time and has almost the same amount of episodes as this newly released Iron Man animated series (although for some reason Iron Man fits on 3 discs while Fantastic Four was on 4 discs). The Iron Man set is a great deal by comparison ($29.99 MSRP vs. $49.99 MSRP for the Fantastic Four set, so about 40% cheaper when comparing MSRP or the sale prices). But now the price on the 5-year-old Fantastic Four volume really needs to come down to earth.

Calculating per episode, the Iron Man DVD is also about 30% cheaper than the X-Men animated series volumes. Fantastic Four should be reduced by 12% (to about $30) to get its pricing in line with at least the X-Men series. But given that it's 5 years old it ought to be on sale for more like $20.

If you look at the ad at Best Buy's Web Site, the item number used for the $17.99 version is the 2-Disc.

If you have blu, it's probably the best way to go since it will be as cheap as the 3 disc, and you get the pre-mania Raw and SmackDown episodes.

THEKING,

Thanks for the clarification and since I don't have BD, I'm going with the 3-disc collectors set but wish Best Buy would have stated that in their ad though.

Target has Iron Man for $19.99 and X-Men for $17.99, making it the same price as BB if you buy both. However, if you have a Meijer near you, they have them both on sale for $16.99 each, or $33.98 total. That's the cheapest I have seen them anywhere.

Re: Best Buy Media Prices (May 2 - 8, 2010)

Even though Best Buy and Target have them for $37.98, after you factor in sales tax (7% where I'm from), Amazon is slightly cheaper (about $0.60). I went ahead and ordered it from Amazon since I still have my the free trial of Prime and I don't feel like making a trip out to Best Buy this week since I'm busy with other things.

Well I don't know if you already went, but Best Buy does have the 3-Disc on sale for $19.99. So it's only a $2 difference. Really that's not too bad at all considering Amazon is asking $26 for it.

I'll probably still grab the Blu, but we'll see.
