A re-release of all seasons was issued on April 6, 2010. New box art, slim cases, ...

So looks like Amazon is trying to get rid of the old stock.

Sam's club had the new releases in stock for under $20 each. Very slick cover design and slimmer cases.

I'm still contemplating getting the complete series from walmart for 104 and then putting them in regular dvd cases or buying the new repackaged sets. Any advice?

Check out the reviews on Amazon on the complete series box set. Many problems with scratches, gouges, ... Really lousy packaging. Amazon has even pulled the set so only third party copies avavilable.

Just a suggestion.

I know, I know, I just didn't want to spend twice as much on the exact same thing. Anyone happen to know how good Walmart.com's exchange policy is? I know Amazon's is amazing, but never exchanged anything through Walmart.

Wow, I've never seen that Amazon notice, even though I know that there have been complaints about many complete series box set packages (they still sell the Shield, and people no one seems thrilled with that setup). Eventually, studios will get the message and pack things up well, right?

Costco has these for $16.99, I went and ahead and bought all 10 rather than dealing with the crappy complete series box, worth the extra money rather than praying you don't get any discs that are too scratched up.

I wouldn't want the atlantis seasons in their current boxes, extremely bad spine design from season to season. None of them match up at all

I am going to wait a while before buying these on-line. I am hoping all the old ones go away. It would be a bitch to order all 10 and get some old mixed with the new. I want all the new box art ones.

I just realized: are these the Early Edition-style packaging where they fit 5-6 discs into a single-disc case?

That's the problem. When ordering on-line you aren't sure which sets you will get. Amazon has the older box art but that may not be what you get. That's why I will wait. Although waiting is no guarantee either.

This is sad, but I traded-in my Stargate seasons a while back and found a few of these new sets at Wal-Mart the other day. I couldn't help but grab Season 9 (never had that one) to check it out. I hope this becomes the new standard because dealing with those freaking thincases drives me up a wall.

Anyway, if I get back into the series, these are the releases I'm getting. I might get into Stargate Atlantis as well if the trend continues.

Well it looks like the complete series is back up on amazon for 106.99. I'm gonna order it later this week and see how it goes. Don't really care if I have to go through all the discs to see if they work. I just want it for that cheap price.

i was at my local wal-mart yesterday and was looking for some of these since i had got some at costco already seasons 6-8 were marked 14.99 while the rest were like 28 or something.
