Re: Big Lots Part 8 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

Looks like one local BL put out some new stuff, including Wyatt Earp, but the cut through the UPC was so deep on both copies, that I passed. Normally those cuts are just surface...this cut went the whole way through the slipcover, into the interior gatefold, and into the plastic where the disc is held. Oh well...

The San Bernardino, CA store has the double feature display up; along with "The Sidney Poitier Collection" and "Classic Western Round-Up Vol. 1".

Re: Big Lots Part 8 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

I picked up the double features of "Analyze This"/"Analyze That" and "Miss Congeniality"/"Miss Congeniality 2" to pair with my special feature-less Blu-ray double features, so at least I'll have them if I ever want to watch them.

I also nabbed "The Sidney Poitier Collection."

Re: Big Lots Part 8 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

Took a ride out to the Clementon, NJ store today here is what i bought..

Of Unknown Origin
Dr Giggles
Exorcist : The Beginning
American Outlaws
Murder At 1600
Tickle Me - Elvis
Lethal Weapon - Director's Cut ($3)
Lethal Weapon 2 - Director's Cut ($5)

Has anyone found a copy of Tickle me with the five postcards inside? My copy does not contain them which is a downer because mostly all these recent Elvis titles i've bought at BL have these inside the case.

Also i'm still looking for Diabolique with Sharon Stone and Chazz Palminteri. If anyone can hook me up with a copy i'd appreciate it as it's my most wanted title from BL right now.

The EX-Unrated DVD price comparison Big Lots vs WalMart

Just wanted to share this ... at Big Lots here in upstate NY it seems that The EX-Unrated is packaged in every other $3.00 three pack. I was quite surprised to see about a dozen of the title in the Ithaca Walmart today for the roll-back price of $13.00!!!

BTW ... the Cortland, Ithaca, and Binghamton store DVD selection is quite picked over ... and the Vestal store puts out a handful of titles every so often so it's hard to know what you might find there on any given day. (Did find Battlefield Earth at Vestal, which I have not seen at any of the others.)

Here in Wa, we seemed to get Lassie & the Kennedy documentary in a very high % of the 3 packs.

Re: Big Lots Part 8 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

Found the Poitier box set today(3 actually) and picked one up.

Also saw the Elvis flick "Tickle Me" but would have sworn that the Elvis 4 movie set including that title had showed up to Big Lot's relatively recently. It had Kissing Cousins, Tickle Me, Live a Little, Love a Little & Girl Happy.

Anyone remember seeing this and for how much?

Found one of those too. Grabbed it. Also got Psycho 2,3,4 pack and the Family Fun Pack (Big Fat Liar, Johnny English, Thunderbirds, Rocky & Bullwinkle). Also grabbed a couple Elvis movies, Speedway and Girl Happy. Still can't find the Sidney Poitier collection.

Also bought Victory / American Flyers 2-pack to get rid of my snappers.

Splendor in the Grass
Copy Cat
One Crazy Summer
Young Guns II (keepcase to replace my old snapper)
The Lost Boys
Mean Streets

Re: Big Lots Part 8 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

I have kind of an odd question. BL has been selling a tv stand that's rated for 95 pounds for $45. Does anyone know if the average 42-46 plasma weighs more then that? One of the reasons I've been holding off on hi def is ridiculous price of the stands.

Check the shipping weight for the plasma you plan to get on Amazon. A 46" Samsung has a shipping weight of 70 pounds. This includes the box and other packaging so you should be good to go. I was faced with a somewhat similar problem as I was trying to put a plasma in a corner location in my parents' home but a floor vent forced me to use a smaller stand than I wanted to. Worked out fine though.

Have you considered a wall mount? You can get them dirt cheap at monoprice.com

I finally found the TCM Archives Laurel & Hardy set. Also found a double-feature Warner DVD of 2 later L&H features - "Air Raid Wardens" plus "Nothing But Trouble." This was also $6.

Not sure if it's been mentioned but I picked up the It's Alive Collection for $6 at the Hendersonville, NC store. They had three or four copies left as of about 7PM.

Re: Big Lots Part 8 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

Why, oh why, oh why do they have Little Shop of Horrors paired up with Little Giants?! I would have snatched up Little Shop on its own for $3. I would have snatched up the 2-pack for $6 if it had been paired with anything decent. Oh well. The one $6 pack that I saw that I would have snatched up if I didn't have all the movies already was the Waiting for Guffman/Best In Show/A Mighty Wind pack. Great movies for 2 bucks each.

Re: Big Lots Part 8 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

I picked up a few the other day:

A Fine Madness
GI Blues
Anchors Aweigh and one other I can't remember.

I've almost completed the MGM Elvis collection (I didn't pick up Speedway because I thought I already had it) and I'm working on the Sinatra collections.
