Re: Big Lots Part 8 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

What happened to the Warner Classics?

Seems like there was a time when we were getting a batch every two weeks, then every few weeks, and now nothing. I picked up Donovan's Reef, Carefree, and another oldie today but nothing that hasn't been at BL for a while.

Did happen to see a Rite Aid closeout section mostly office supplies but there were a few dvd's, mostly Bond films, Prairie Home Companion, etc that were way overpriced compared to BL standards. Cashier told me they were trying to sell the merchandise for Rite Aid at 20% off. There is a reason it didn't sell at Rite Aid = price, and there is a reason it wasn't selling so far at BL = price.

It will get marked down eventually, just like the furniture buyouts. The last time I was in the Newport, KY store, I believe the Rite Aid stuff was marked down to 60% off. There were some DVDs and CDs in there, but nothing of interest (and, yes, still priced too high at 60% off).

My BL visits and purchases have slowed way down, but I did grab a couple of anime titles (Project Blue Earth SOS: Complete Box Set and Tokyo Majin: Season 1, Part 1) for $3 each last week.

Has anybody seen the first Brady Bunch Movie lately (or ever)? I found "A Very Brady Sequel" for the first time about a month back, and I'd like the first one too.

They had the first one along with Brady Bunch in the White House about two years ago. They have not reappeared recently.

The two local big lots haven't had anything new for weeks now. I go every Thursday to check and nothing. Movie selection keeps shrinking... maybe that's what they want before putting new dvds, BUT thats the only reason I go so always walk out empty handed

Wow, I want that one. I haven't come across it at any of my local stores. That's the John Carpenter film starring Kurt Russell, right? And how much does it cost?

I bought The Thing - Collectors Edition from BL a year ago and it was $3.

But you might want to get the blu ray on Amazon it's only $9.99, my Brother in law is a huge Carpenter fan and raved about the Blu.

If it's this version: http://www.amazon.com/Thing-Collecto...3177519&sr=1-4

Look out, it's non-anamorphic.

No new DVD's at my local BL, but, in case anyone is interested, I did pick up Jay Mohr's "Gasping For Airtime: Two Years in the Trenches of Saturday Night Live" hardcover for $3.

Re: Big Lots Part 8 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

One of the 3 Big Lots near me had this WWII Collection for $15. Das Boot is a must have but I think I can live without the others. If it had been priced at $8 I probably would have purchased it.

Re: Big Lots Part 8 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

I keep on seeing...

Samurai Masters box set: 8 bucks, has 18 horribly cheesy martial arts movies (while I point out that none of them are Samurai movies)
The Mob Box: 15 bucks, four movies, I know you should give a damn about 2 of them.
Kabluey
Norbit
Booty Call
Igor
Invasion of the Body snatchers/bella Legosi vampire movie double feature.
a few singular dvds of Speed Grappler

and before I got the samurai box set, I bought Good Night and Good Luck and Baghead but haven't been able to watch them yet due to finals.

Re: Big Lots Part 8 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

I forgot to mention a few other "gems"

Gigli (I'm debating getting this because it's been on the bottom 100 for a while now and I'm wondering if it's in the territory of so bad it's good)
Doom (heard it actually isn't that bad)
From Justin to Kelly
Motherhood
Mission Impossible box set (10 dollars)
a few SNL's are left over
Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow (marked down to 3 dollars)
Stardust (actually not bad. Not great, but it's directed by Mark Vaughn, who recently did Kick-ass. 5 bucks though).
Alex and Emma

Also, if anyone sees a romantic comedy that you know is good, especially for the beginning of a relationship, go ahead and mention it to me because my budding movie collection mostly consists of bad kung fu movies and serious-ness.

domin007- is your DOOM WS or P&S? I have only seen P&S versions, that's the only reason why I haven't picked it up yet.

Did you mean The Body Snatcher and I walked with a Zombie Val Lewton double feature?

Unless I'm mistaken, because neither is a vampire movie either. I walked with a Zombie is awesome though. But really both Val Lewton double features I've seen pop up there are great, I wish they got the others :/.

Re: Big Lots Part 8 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

New batch of *something* here tonight at Eastland... Orange stickers. Nothing memorable, other than quite a few thinpak titles. Also, some new Timeless Media Group sets / double discers + more St. Clair PD titles, sports among them. Maybe the thinpaks were Timeless as well. I think. Odd selection. But a pallet vanished and they are apparently moving them.
