Thank goodness that "The Art of Buster Keaton" set is still out of my price range, I don't have funds to buy much at the moment.

Why did I click this link? Goodbye money....

Re: Deep Discount 52% off sale on select Kino arthouse cinema
I am interested in 3 of the boxsets and a few individual titles but I simply can't afford to buy anything this month as I am already way over my budget:(

Re: Deep Discount 52% off sale on select Kino arthouse cinema
Probably going to snatch up copies of Stalker (finally) and the restored Faust, as well as a few other things next week.

Re: Deep Discount 52% off sale on select Kino arthouse cinema
Well, I'd love to pick up at least a few of the boxsets (Murnau, Gitai, Paradjanov) and some of the Riefenstahl, Lang, and Suzuki films - some of which have been on my wishlist for quite a while.
Now just to decide whether or not I have enough money to buy them. |
many thanks as always Toyboat!
Mnementh, normally I'm happy seeing your posts with all the links, but today it saddens me, as I see all the highlighted ones indicating the mass of titles I had put in my cart.
|
Hmmm. The forum is censoring the name and url of Kike Like Me. I normally wouldn't want to use a workaround but the censored word's in the movie title and, more importantly, in the url. Good thing ****ing Åmål never goes on sale.

Re: Deep Discount 52% off sale on select Kino arthouse cinema
I noticed DD now lists Google Checkout as a payment choice - hopefully Google will start one of their $10 off of $50 promotions at some point. I ordered the remaining Kino titles on my wish list:
Sir Arne's Treasure The Saga of Gosta Berling Queen Kelly A Man There Was Foolish Wives Also: Those of you interested in any of the silent titles should be aware that, almost without exception, the MoC editions (where available) are superior. Also, the Edition Filmmuseum disc of Blind Husbands is the definitive release. |

Re: Deep Discount 52% off sale on select Kino arthouse cinema
Happy Together is coming to Blu-ray in June, so some folks might want to hold off on that one.

Re: Deep Discount 52% off sale on select Kino arthouse cinema

I'm saving some cash because I'm wary of buying single movies because Kino has a habit of later putting them in more cost-effective box sets.

Re: Deep Discount 52% off sale on select Kino arthouse cinema

Re: Deep Discount 52% off sale on select Kino arthouse cinema
I might get Nosferatu, but I'm not sure I want to set my account up all over again (DD did a real bang-up job with their new site migration). Hopefully AZ will match and I won't have to.

Re: Deep Discount 52% off sale on select Kino arthouse cinema
Last time I placed an order with DD it was for a common new release. 30 days after the release date I canceled the order as it still hadn't shipped.

Re: Deep Discount 52% off sale on select Kino arthouse cinema
I agree, 90% of the time MOC does seem to surpass Kino in quality.
